13 er 5 Section E: Proposed Research E1. Research problem and justification Describe the research problem that is to be investigated and justification of the project. The description should demonstrate a clear analysis of the problem; outline identified gaps in knowledge with reference to literature and relevant policy-related documents among others. Maximum 1500 words. E2. Research objectives Provide a clear and concise description of both the general objective and specific objectives of the research project. Note that research objectives should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound. Maximum 300 words. E3. thodology Describe the proposed research design and methodology. This section should discuss the following details as appropriate such as: theoretical and conceptual framework; data collection and analyses; and ethical considerations among others. Maximum 1500 words. E4. Collaboration Describe the roles and responsibilities of the various project applicants in delivering the stated objectives of the project. Details of in-kind contributions, if any, should be provided in this section. Elaborate how capacity will be retained throughout the course of the project and beyond. Maximum 750 words. E6. Monitoring and evaluation Describe how the project will carry out monitoring and evaluation activities of the project. Social equity and gender Describe how the research will contribute to outcomes that contribute to social transformation.
