Name Address Current Tarrif SUBMIT ENTER YOUR DETAILS You will need your postcode, the name of your current supplier, and the name of the tariff you are on. This is all available on your current energy bill. If you get stuck us a copy of your bill and we will fill it out for you. COMPARE TARIFFS When you ve entered your details you can click compare now and see what options you have; who the cheapest supplier is, and importantly you can see a whole view of your market options from the big 6 to the little guy. SWITCH ENERGY SUPPLIER Choose your supplier based on your preferences and switch. Note; Ideally, the switch should take no longer than 17 days from the date you arranged to change supplier. This allows for a 14 day cooling off period where you can change your mind about switching. This comes after energy regulator Ofgem challenged gas and electricity companies to cut their switching times. SUPPORT YOUR CHOSEN CAUSE Immediately after you ve clicked to switch, (which should only take minutes), you will be able to support your chosen community project or charity. From projects locally to supporting families in Africa with a solar panel and charging station; it s up to you! We can do this because energy suppliers pay a switching fee to switching sites and our Ofgem approved engine pays us the same fee as the other sites and gives us the same offers. 5 ACHIEVING THE LOWEST COST FOR HOMEOWNERS OFGEM KITEMARK: WHAT DOES IT MEAN THE CONFIDENCE CODE The confidence code was revised in March 2015 by Ofgem and it s in place to protect consumers. They ve created an easy guide at to help domestic households shop around for the best deal. Ofgem approved a handful of online comparison services that operate in accordance with their Confidence Code. Ofgem approve these on the basis that they can be trusted as a source of information when you are looking at different deals and tariffs. The comparison engine at Energy Relief is an approved Ofgem site. WHAT IS THE CONFIDENCE CODE? The Confidence Code is a code of Practice that governs independent energy price comparison sites. Ofgem took on the Code from the consumer focus in 2013 and reviewed it to make sure it provided the right protection for consumers. They took on lots of feedback about what needed to be included to protect customers before publishing a revised code in March The new Code means accredited sites must meet tighter standards when displaying tariffs are displayed so consumers can be confident they can find the best deals in the market. Ofgem said each site also has to list prominently which energy companies they have commission arrangements with, and make it clear that they can earn commission on certain tariffs. With energy relief we donate 100% of any commission we receive (the switching fee) to your charity or community project. This is around 20 for a single fuel (gas or electricity) and 40 for a dual fuel. Our switching engine is an Ofgem Approved site so you can trust in our site when switching. 39 SWITCH SAVE SUPPORT WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? Corporate donations are split between our mission and our operational costs. Because we give 100% of the switching fee s from our site to charities and projects of your choice we need donations and sponsorship to pay our operational costs. We are not for profit but to get the word out their and to support more great causes we do have some operational costs. Even so, we still give 10% of all donations we receive from corporate partners to powering families with clean power. You can see the good work that is being done at the following link; HOW DO YOU PAY FOR YOUR STAFF? Good Question. Even as a not for profit we have to pay our staff and we want to create great jobs too. The money from corporate donations goes to paying our operational costs such as staff, marketing, & promoting energy relief. 90 pence of every pound to be exact. CAN I SEE THE PROJECTS MY SWITCH HAS HELPED IN AFRICA? You can see the project you ve supported at CAN I SEE WHERE MY MONEY HAS GONE? When you switch and choose a community project or charity you will be able to see the money going into the pot and the % target ticking ever closer! When we reach 100% for the community project we will write them a cheque and share with them who helped support them. We pay charities the monies quarterly; we won t limit the number of charities we are looking to set up & this is the easiest way to keep the administration down, but don t worry, we are an open book & share with the charities the number of switchers and amounts received and when. WHY DOESN T IT GO TO THE CHARITIES BANK ACCOUNT STRAIGHT AWAY? We ve not quite mastered how to make this possible. We don t make any money from the switching process. 100% of the money we receive goes to the charities and community projects you choose. Guaranteed.
