Passport and Travel Information Passport/Travel Document 1. Complete this section with the information exactly as it appears on your passport. Some details will already be populated from the first section of your application. Answer each section of the form fully and truthfully. Failure to declare something on your form will be seen by UKVI as deception, and will result in this application, and possibly future applications, being refused. Providing the correct information will not automatically lead to a refusal, even if you have been refused in the past. Page 8
Travel Information 2. Enter the travel details of anyone travelling with you, even if they already have their own immigration permissions to be in the UK, or will be applying separately. 3. Deported means to be expelled from any country, usually due to illegal status of having committed a crime. Voluntarily elected means to have chosen of your own free will after an immigration decision. Listing details of a refusal will not automatically mean your application is refused. The Tier 4 Policy guidance explains this in more detail, but for ALL applicants the form should be completed as follows: Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies: 30 Maintenance: 10 Total: 40 Page 20
Additional Information 1. In this section you will be asked to provide any Additional Information you feel may be useful for the caseworker to considering your application. Note: For students returning to resume their studies, or for any non-standard applications, please add this sentence; Please note that the original course start is [enter your original course start date as stated in the Evidence Used to Obtain Box] and this application is being made so that the course can be completed, hence please calculate the correct leave to be granted. 2. Press Confirm Application and review the information you have provided. This must be correct, truthful, and answered in full for each question. 3. Submit your application. You cannot make further edits after this point. Page 21
Sign Declaration 1. Read and agree to the declaration by typing your name at the bottom and click the Sign Declaration button. Your application is not complete until you sign the declaration. Page 22
BRP Collection Location If you are granted leave to enter the UK for more than 6 months, your visa will be initially granted on a vignette (sticker) in your passport. This will allow you to enter the UK, where you will then have to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). 1. Please enter an Alternative Collection Code to ensure your BRP card in sent to the University for you to collect when you arrive. There are different codes for Exeter and Cornwall, so be sure to enter the correct code: Exeter based courses (Streatham and St Luke s campuses): 2H2342 Cornwall based courses (Penryn and Truro campuses): 2HE Your assigned collection location should update. Press Confirm and again confirm your chosen location is correct. Page 23
Select Appointment Location You will need to attend an appointment to show your documents, and have an interview, before your visa can be granted. 1. You will have a list of locations to choose from. Select your preferred location and read the information on the page carefully. 2. Choose PBS Tier 4 Students from the Visa Type list. 3. On the next screen, select your preferred time and date. Do not forget that your funds must have been held in your account for at least 28 consecutive days before you attend your appointment. Ensure you have original copies of all your documentation prepared for your appointment. More information on our website. Page 24
Immigration Health Surcharge 1. Continue to the screen where you are required to pay for your Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS). 2. Complete the missing details: No you are not staying in the Isle of Man, Jersey or Guernsey. Add the start and ends dates of your course as per your CAS. 3. These questions refer to a pilot scheme some Universities are involved in. The University of Exeter is not part of this scheme, but you must still answer the questions fully. Your CAS will state your NQF/QCF level. NQF 7 refers to Master s level courses. Sometimes qualifications are listed as RQF/SCQF. Ignore the SCQF (this refers to the Scottish qualification system). Choose the same RQF number as the NQF/QCF listed on your CAS. 4. Check your information provided and complete the declaration. Proceed to the payment screen to enter your card details. Once completed, you should be re-directed to the Visa4UK page to pay for your application. Page 25
Questions? If after following the advice in this document you still have questions, first try our Tier 4 Super Guides on our website. We also have guides for applying for visa for your dependants. If you still do not know the answer, please contact the International Student Support Office on sid@exeter.ac.uk, or for Cornwall students contact info.penryn@exeter.ac.uk. Don t forget to carefully prepare all your documents. The most common reason for a visa refusal is due to the finance evidence submitted. Check our website carefully to ensure your documents meet ALL the requirements. If in doubt, ask for help. Do NOT risk submitting an incorrect application. Page 26
