2 About PMI Olympia Welcome to the Project Management Institute (PMI) Olympia Chapter and thank you for your interest in our chapter. As an organization PMI Olympia is a voluntary, not-for-profit association dedicated to be the Recognized leader in Project Management Excellence (Mission), by developing passionate project managers (Vision), through Professionalism, Mastery, and Involvement (Core Values). The PMI Olympia Chapter is a diamond in the rough being tucked in between the Seattle and Portland markets. This includes the greater Tacoma, Olympia, Aberdeen, Port Angeles, Centralia/Chehalis areas. We serve a growing membership of highly skilled professionals who live and work in the markets we serve. With over 4,500 PMI members in the South Sound, the PMI- Olympia chapter has established a valued presence in the Project Management field as the voice of PMI professionals to their organizations, agencies, governments and the public. In addition to playing a vital advocacy role for the industry, PMI Olympia offers its members a number of valuable services including education, training, professional recognition, career resources, industry relations and representation of member interests in all industry areas within the Chapter s operation area.

3 Member Demographic Located in the heart of Washington State government, the PMI Olympia has diverse demographic with emphasis from governmental organizations such as the US Air Force, US Army, State of Washington, Thurston County, Pierce County, Kitsap County, City of Olympia and surrounding communities in Pierce and Lewis Counties. Analysis. Yet still, over half of our membership is from the private sector. Many of our members are transitioning from their active duty military careers to working as private citizens and look to PMI Olympia for guidance in preparation to working as Project, Program, Portfolio Managers and Business In addition to evolving services and programs for members, PMI Olympia has also had great success in past years providing opportunities for our dedicated partners. We have a proven track record of delivering great value and return on investment for our sponsor partners and we re committed to doing even more. PMI Olympia has delivered an annual flagship event focused on providing its membership with valuable education, networking and learning opportunities to enhance their profession. With significant emphasis placed on professional development and growth, the annual Instant Impact Conference offers a unique forum for Project Management Professionals to take in relevant and often leading-edge education to support advanced knowledge and performance in their tool kits.
