2 Broward County Minority Builders Coalition, Inc. Supporting the Professionals and Entrepreneurs Who Build Our Communities Broward County Minority Builders Coalition Inc. (BCMBC) is a growing and influential construction trade organization in Broward County, Florida. BCMBC members are general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, corporations, service providers and more. Samuel J. Delevoe, Sr. E. Pat Larkins Luther Jackson Emanuel Aspras Howard Blackmon Calvin Sapp John Fairer Robert McKinzie, Sr. In 1971, eight minority business and community leaders identified the need for ensuring a level playing field for minority owned construction companies. These men, paved the way for BCMBC to become a leader in creating pathways for success for minority contractors and construction professionals. Our founder and first Executive Director, E. Pat Larkins, a local businessman and city commissioner worked with this team of like-minded professionals to craft and mobilize our mission of: Ensuring that highly skilled minorities and women are fairly represented within the local, state and global construction industry. The visions, intentions and legacy of Mr. Larkins and our founders remain alive.
3 Our History of Construction and Community Leadership BCMBC has the experience, leadership, resources and expertise to address the critical industry issues that affect your business and our community. Our goal is twofold: (1) to provide effective solutions for issues that directly impact Broward County firms and (2) to facilitate growth through networking, education, resource development programs and activities. BCMBC is dedicated to enabling its members prosperity and growth in spite of today s economic climate. Through years of experience, we ve learned that staying abreast of industry trends, prospects and forecasts is critical. We actively identify and pursue opportunities to ensure strategic positioning and growth for our members.
