1 Application Grant Instructions 1. Log into MyKaty, and select the Education Foundation tab at the bottom of the screen. 2. To begin an application, click the Foundation Grant Application tile. 3. The Foundation Grant Application window will open. 4. Click the green plus sign to begin entering information into the form. 5. The first step in filling out the form is to enter the Project Title, and select the Application Type: Individual Application, Team of Two Application or Team Application of Three or More. Please note that titles are limited to 60 characters. 6. Select the Submit button to save the title and application type. This process puts the blank Foundation Grant form into your MyKaty so that you can continue entering information into it. Please note that once you are into the application, you can change the title and/or application type if needed. 1 P a g e

2 7. The newly created application will appear on the screen. If you have multiple applications, they will all appear on this screen. View details of the application. Access the Edit button to make changes to the application after it has been submitted. Delete a grant application in process. An application cannot be deleted once it has been submitted. Grant application checklist (must be completed before the grant can be printed). Click Continue Application to open the form. 8. Click Continue Application to continue working on your application. 2 P a g e

3 9. The form will open. *** Please note that some teams prefer to type answers to the application questions in Microsoft Word and then copy/paste the answers into the online form. Formatting such as bulleted text, bold words, or underlined words applied in Microsoft Word do not transfer correctly into the online application. ***Important Note About Saving: You can enter information into the form, leave the form and then come back to continue entering information. Any field marked with a red asterisk (School Type, Grant is a Continuation question, and Projected Implementation dates) must be filled out before you can save the application. Before leaving the form, be sure to click the Save Progress button at the bottom of the screen. Failure to do so, will result in loss information entered into the form. After Save Progress has been clicked, the application form window will close, and the Foundation Grant Application window where all grants in progress are listed will reopen. 3 P a g e

4 10. Type a name in the Lead Teacher field. Select the job role for the Lead teacher: Teacher, Instructional Coach, Librarian, or Counselor. 11. Enter team members into the Team Members field by typing one name, and then clicking Add. When Add is clicked, the name will appear under the Team Members box as a hyperlink. Repeat for each additional team member. To delete a team member, click on a blue hyperlinked team member s name. A message will prompt you to confirm the deletion. 12. The Projected Implementation Dates section is populated with default dates. If you need to change a date, select a date within the school year. 13. In the Estimated Itemized Budget Summary section, enter the budget information for one item, and then click Add. The item will appear as a link at under the text boxes. Continue adding budget items one at a time. To delete a budget item click the blue link. A prompt will appear to verify that the selected item will be deleted. 14. After completing the application form, click Save Progress. It is recommended that you do not click the Submit button until you have gone through the checklist. 4 P a g e

5 Finalizing and Submitting the Application In the previous step, you saved the progress on the form. The Form Application window has reopened. At this point you will complete the checklist, and then go back and edit the form as needed. 15. Click on the small green checkmark to open the checklist form. 16. The checklist form will open. Complete the Checklist. Everything above the line must be read and checked before the Print Application link appears. The items below the line can be completed after your principal has reviewed the proposal and approved it. 17. Click on Update Checklist at the bottom of the form to close the checklist form and reopen the Foundation Grant Application window. 18. Click on Continue Application to go back to the application form. Make any changes required to the form to make sure that all items in the checklist have been included. 5 P a g e

6 19. Once the form is complete and ready for submission, select Yes under Is this application complete. 20. The form will display information about submitting the application to the Foundation Grant Office. The button will change from Save Progress to Submit. 21. Click the Submit button when the form is complete. The form will close and the Foundation Grant Application window will reopen. 22. The Grant Application status will be displayed with Print Application. ***If the Print Application link is not displayed, then at least one item above the line on the checklist was not completed.. Go back into the checklist and check the item(s). Once the Update Checklist button is clicked, the Print Application link will appear. ***Important Note About Editing after Submitting: It is still possible to go back into the application and make modifications eventhough the link has changed from Continue Application to Print Application. Click the plain paper icon on the left side to view the details of the application. Scroll to the bottom and click the Edit link. The application will open, and you can continue edditing. 23. Print the form. 24. Sign the application and ensure that the campus principal signs as well. (or department director if an itinerant teacher) 25. Complete the items below the line on the checklist. 26. Save the application as PDF and a copy to foundationgrants@katyisd.org. 27. Deliver 3 signed applications (Original & 2 copies) to Foundation Offices at the Education Support Complex located at 6301 S. Stadium Lane, Katy, TX 77494, no later than 5:00PM on April 4, If sending by Inter-office mail, please allow additional time and confirm by or a phone call at (281) that the copies have arrived in the Foundation Offices prior to the deadline. 6 P a g e
