Raised $ for SJAM H&S. Thank you to all the volunteers and North End Business Association for inviting us and providing the baskets. -It was discussed that a sign indicating Raffle for SJAM would be helpful at the event. 3 Holiday concert 50/50 December 19th and 20th - - -It was discussed that a 50/50 draw would be added as a fundraiser at the upcoming holiday concerts -Tina Hiscock to obtain 50/50 license to run this event -Volunteers will be confirmed via to run the event February 2018 OPENS CLOSES DELIVERY Discussion Family Bingo Krista Tilley February 23, people required to support this event. -Discussion re changing themes of baskets from previous years, and requesting gift cards, cash contributions or items from families as donations -Krista will be looking for a group in January to support this event April 2018 OPENS CLOSES DELIVERY Discussion 3

4 Wine Tasting - TBD April 6, Working committee to be formed at a later date (6-7 committee members needed) -Committee Head with daytime availability needed to solicit donations from local businesses during business hours. Lisa Bungay volunteered to assist with soliciting businesses. -This is SJAM H&S biggest fundraiser and the means for sustaining classroom funding -A sign up sheet was passed around for volunteers to help in preparation for and at the event -There was some discussion re whether the silent auction could be put online ACTION : -Shannon Decoste to investigate event insurance -SJAM H&S Executive will draft a letter to businesses for soliciting donations 4

Principal s Report: -Goatworks drumming was a success -The Trike-a-thon fundraiser raised about $2000 for the North End Opportunities Fund -Upcoming dates: Dec 1st SJAM choir will perform at the tree lighting in the Hydrostone Dec 4th report cards Dec 3rd at 7pm - Eastlink Magazine will feature SJAM Halifax Explosion project (also shown at 8:30am every day the following week) Dec 6th - Reception for the Halifax Explosion to be held in SJAM gymnasium following service at the monument Students in older grades will be greeters in the school lobby, talking with attendees re their tile project Dec 7th PD Day/Parent Teacher interviews Dec 19th & 20th Holiday concerts. 6 January meeting date - January meeting date will be postponed until Wed January 10th, 2018 Bingo machine - Oxford school has requested to borrow the Bingo machine Motion: Kathy Shano Second: Heather Ternoway All:All in agreement -Natalie Hagerty will communicate with Oxford School that the machine can be borrowed after the SJAM Bingo event (Feb 23, 2018) to ensure it is in working order. Garden Committee - lids for the garden beds will be applied soon. The final meal for Good Food First was well enjoyed. Signage Bethany Lander (November & December) Jessica Winton (January & February) -Bethany will monitor need for replacement letters/numbers for signage and bring request to next meeting. Letter re Fundraisers - a draft was circulated at the meeting for approval prior to sending home with students Motion: Jill Perry Second: Jessica Winton All:All in agreement Future Fundraisers - there was some discussion re need to reach a wider part of the school community with SJAM H&S fundraisers. Many families ask about cookie dough or pie fundraisers. - SJAM H&S Executive to look at HRSB Food Policies in further detail and investigate which/any fundraisers could be offered that fit within these policies. -Further discussion planned at future meetings re other fundraising ideas (ex Chase the Ace) Next Home and School Meeting January 10th, 2018 at 630 pm in the school Library 6
