1 Community Gaming Trusts Funding sources for sports clubs Funding criteria assessment: updated March 2009 The Wellington City Council has prepared this table for Wellington Sports and Recreation Clubs to help them identify what projects Community Gaming Trusts could fund. The table also lists some of the things the Community Gaming Trusts will consider when assessing an application e.g. status and finances of sports club. A brief note on each funder is also provided. This includes contact details and information on funding rounds. All Community Gaming Trusts can only fund amateur sports clubs sports clubs affiliated with national sporting organisation clubs participating in a recognised sports competition The Community Gaming trusts will not fund individual sportspeople directly. The individuals club can apply on their behalf for assistance to participate at representative events projects that have already been completed (retrospective) professional sport refreshments, catering and bar staff or bar facilities cash prizes 1
2 How to use this table? This table has a list of some of the common expenses of running a sports club including organising sports events and providing facilities. The table also lists the things that the Trusts use to determine if the sports club meets its criteria (e.g. amateur sports club). Each Community Gaming Trust operating in Wellington City is listed along the top (Trusts that have contestable funding). Key to table content trust will consider applications for funding these projects/costs (pg 3-6) OR will consider these aspects of club status/finance when assessing application (pg 7-9) trust will not fund these projects (pg 3-6) OR will not consider these aspects of club status/finance when assessing application (pg 7-9)? not specifically mentioned not relevant (or not mentioned) Further notes on each criteria listed are available on the right hand side of the page. It is important that the applicant check with the Community Gaming Trust before applying, as changes to funding criteria and funding rounds do occur. The Community Trust of Wellington is not included in this table. This trust funds region-wide initiatives. To find out more about the trust visit 2
