Q4: Would you attend OP for the right alumni-oriented programming? Answered: 27 Skipped: 0 No, because... I don't know what OP is. Next time, please avoid acronyms. Travel is difficult with 2 babies. Not a great time to travel if I can avoid it. Cost, time away from business. If I were still interested in working in corporate jobs, I would go. However, I work in higher education now and it's not quite the right fit. It seems really oriented around MBAs getting internships and recruiting. Probably not unless it was very close to home. Likely can't spare the time and money to attend. industry support, networking with current consortium network and professional development and doing something mission driven to enhance the strength of the family Travel involved, use vacation time from work, etc. It's incredibly challenging to take time off of work. I'd rather give money. cost v. benefit analysis, depending on the programs offered may not be worth the time and money spent of cost difficult to get away for a weekend. No time; not really interested There should be regional programming that is more practical, convenient and accessible for busy alums. It also increases the likelihood that solid local personal and professional alumni bonds will form and be sustained long term. Possibly but it would need to be something very compelling. Too much time from work. too busy I'm not sure that the time and money investment makes sense Depends on work commitments for travel availability. I find little value in it I attended OP last year but was surprised when I was told that all the events planned for alumni were cancelled. Would have appreciated an or note on this prior to OP. Hard to go due to location It would most likely involve travel The focus usually seems to be on students, however. Too much annual travel for me.

Q5: Which region of the country would you be coming from? Answered: 111 Skipped: 36

Q6: What kind of alumni activities/events would attract you? Answered: 139 Skipped: 8

Q6: What kind of alumni activities/events would attract you? Answered: 139 Skipped: 8

Q7: For the right programming, what are the maximum number of days/nights you would consider attending? Answered: 139 Skipped: 8

Q8: Would a nominal registration fee discourage you from attending? Answered: 139 Skipped: 8

Q9: If you answered "No" to Question 10, what is the maximum registration fee you are willing to invest? Answered: 113 Skipped: 34

Q10: Please provide any overall comments you have regarding alumni programming at OP. Answered: 45 Skipped: 102 Again, I'm lost in the acronym wilderness. I have not attended any alumni events at OP Please also rotate the locations; not everyone wants to travel to the Midwest all the time. You should open employment application for alumni as well in these events. Consider using alums from each school in programming Use developing let cal alumni chapters to promote Networking by school and OP year Nominal registration would discourage me at first given alums really haven't been the focus in the past. But over time, once I know the value, wouldn't mind paying to attend. There's alumni programming at OP? To me it seems like it's just for pre-mbas and there's no reason to go as an alum, except as a member of a recruiting team. OP is a great opportunity to continue to grow alumni and share the long-term benefits - in person At this stage of my life and work career (retired), the activities would probably not interest me, even though the 50th anniversary celebration at IU was great. I would be interested but it also depends on the location, and how far I would have to travel to that particular meeting, as well as days I'd have to miss from work. Good idea cuz we all lose touch. Be sure to include programming for pre-funded start-ups not just post-vc. A lot of people 2/3/4 years out are doing their own start-ups now now and going the entrepreneurial route. Alumni programming has been non-existent in my opinion. This is unfortunate and a missed opportunity. Consortium alums are interested in executive level topics and there are few organizations meeting this need. Most organizations are focused on programming for current MBA students and/or recent graduates. There is an opportunity for the Consortium to leverage its relationship with corporate partners to deliver programming targeted at senior and executive level alums that could feature similar level individuals from the corporate partners? Additionally, the Consortium could tap into its alumni network to help its corporate partners fill their senior and executive level positions. I encourage your efforts to incorporate alumni programming into the OP. Great way to strengthen the ties among alumni and create a more powerful network As I think about what would encourage me to attend an OP I feel knowing others from my time period would be an incentive. Also, workshops/topics related to post-retirement (working, continued education, travels, hobbies, etc.) would be of interest. Create more webinar or alumni events throughout the year so alumni can engage with each other and the Consortium more often. The events, should also be well planned and executed. Alumni relations are extremely important for our overall cause, I strongly encourage CGSM to invest more efforts into strengthening Alumni ties. This will eventually lead to a stronger presence of minorities in corporate America, increased donations to CGSM, and more applications for CGSM incoming students (via word of mouth from alum).

Q10: Please provide any overall comments you have regarding alumni programming at OP. Answered: 45 Skipped: 102 I'd need to be very very clear on what the programming details are to understand how I could benefit before signing up. If I'm fortunate enough to attend as a corporate recruiter, however, I'd definitely attend all programming available. Developing a Theme around Alumni Programming and focus on networking across the member ships may stimulate participation Workshops that address stages of career and life are also attractive - particularly as it might relate to changing career direction; personal Philanthropy; non-corporate MBA paths; retirement issues, etc. More opportunities need to happen for alumni or we will lose interest and donate our time and money to other causes. I know there has been a change in leadership but you need to make a splash with Alumni. And highly consider sponsoring more local chapter activities. Move it to southern California. Necessary to keep the alumni vibrant OP is geared to incoming students and not alumni. It would be great if there were events specific to alumni for job opportunities, networking, & career. Again, I think a better focus for alumni programming would be regional programs (vs. having an event at OP) so that people can build relationships and bonds that are lasting in nature. I haven't attended Make it high quality and include alumni presenters that have a compelling story of their life and their success. Great idea. Overdue. I've been out 30 years, so I'm interested in seeing people who I know (and remember). University of North Carolina and 1987 alumni are what would draw me. Alumni should do 12 minute presentations about their topic of choice (career, company, experience, topic) a la TED followed by a question answer period. It would be an opportunity for alumni to share knowledge while building their own personal brand identity. A win for everyone. Hard to pull off. Important to figure out, though. Make it easy and attractive. Maybe webcasts with high profile folks that we wouldn't have access to otherwise. Always include a contribution message. We shouldn't need a push to support Consortium but we do. I'd like to see recruiting events aimed specifically at alumni. I'd like to see consortium partner companies create pipelines for not only current students but also alumni as well. My sole focus for coming to OP would be to give back / interface with current students. I am not interested in self-serving aspects of attending (i.e. networking, career development, etc.) I think sponsors would be more interested if there was a separate recruiting event for alums- this would improve their ROI. Identifying alums who are 'looking' and making them more visible to hiring managers would help a lot.

Q10: Please provide any overall comments you have regarding alumni programming at OP. Answered: 45 Skipped: 102 Strong alumni program would help keep us connected and help with fundraising efforts. It would be great to hear about ways the Consortium is looking to improve and personal narratives of Consortium alumni. It would also be beneficial to hear about ways we can contribute to the Consortium I wish there was more of it! The consortium doesn't do a good job in supporting alumni with their careers. It's great to get your MBA but that's just the beginning. It would be great to have employment opportunities available as well as mentoring sessions Not enough representation from Silicon Valley companies. Please hold OP in San Jose or San Francisco one year. I can't afford to fly across the country plus hotel plus transport. Looking forward to seeing more Alumni Based Programming in the future. A lot of alums have transitioned from typical post B-school positions into more non-traditional roles, having options for them would be great. My experience is these gathering is about pairing needs of corporations and students and not a good fit for self employed (I'm an independent logistics consultant) I would love to see CGSM evolve to include more programming, networks and support to alum, similarly to how MLT has managed to fuel professional growth over time. I think it is a great idea CGSM is thinking of ways to engage alumni - perhaps there is an opportunity to partner with MLT and similar organizations for scale and creation of the most value-added programming for alumni

Q11: Would you participate in CGSM regional events (e.g., recruitment, corporate sponsored, alumni mixers)? Answered: 137 Skipped: 10

Q11: Would you participate in CGSM regional events (e.g., recruitment, corporate sponsored, alumni mixers)? Answered: 137 Skipped: 10 No, because... Would probably require me to travel to either Detroit, MI or Chicago, IL. It would just depend on the event. I'm retired; would be interested in assisting with recruitment. Depends on scheduling I don't live in an area where such activities have ever been conducted and I'm not close to a CGSM school. I would consider being an ambassador should CGSM want to expand and include the University of Nebraska - Lincoln among its schools. Time Regional events are nowhere close to where I live - three hours is not close My time is taken up with other interests - LGBTQ civil rights, political campaigns, fraternity, church. I was the alumni regional rep in Cincinnati somewhere around held outside of country of current residence My job involves heavy travel and attending events during the week has always proved difficult at the moment, my schedule is full As of now, they're all corporate focused and I'm switching gears to be less corporate/more creative & entrepreneurial. Please send me info on Minneapolis/St. Paul events. I'm moving there this month.

Q12: Are you aware The Consortium has regional chapters you can be involved in? Answered: 138 Skipped: 9

Q13: Are you part of The Consortium's alumni group on LinkedIn? Answered: 136 Skipped: 11

Q14: Does The Consortium have your current contact information? Answered: 135 Skipped: 12

Q15: Please provide any overall comments regarding how we can encourage alumni participation in Consortium activities/events. Answered: 46 Skipped: 101 Communication so we're aware of the activities, the purpose and their relevance to us and/or their relevance to someone else, e.g. helping others. Have more social mixers. I don't believe I have heard of any regional mixers here in LA for a long time. Advertise / network! I knew Alumni chapters were forming but didn't know one was in DC. CAN'T SAY Don't be afraid to recruit/screen hard for ethics and character and not merely test scores. There are some "spoiled brats" in CGSM with no greater commitment to diversity than the most trust-funded majority culture demographic. Be concerned with the culture/brand your activities groom or reinforce. Alumni specific and school specific communications in short either monthly or quarterly bites (one screen on a laptop). Include updates and all local events Demonstrate the value. Consortium seems to end after business school, if not OP. Not sure but I feel strongly that recent alumni (last years) should have a strong interest in being involved with new students. They are the role models. I attempted to volunteer for supporting a regional event once before sending an to a referred contact but did not a response. As mentioned currently retired. Personally reach out, committees for new initiatives, alumni led events Would be interested in the NY/NJ alumni leadership Develop and deliver programming relevant to the alumni members If no one has stepped up to lead a regional chapter, I think the Consortium should take the proactive step to recruit chapter leaders. I think a lot of alums don't know about the alumni regional chapters. I have reached out in the past about volunteer opportunities but have either not heard back or have not been selected. Would really like to be involved though! I contacted the regional leaders when I first moved to LA. One responded that the chapter was dormant but he was working on reigniting it would get back to me on opportunities to be involved. That was 2 years ago and I've heard nothing.

Q15: Please provide any overall comments regarding how we can encourage alumni participation in Consortium activities/events. Answered: 46 Skipped: 101 I would really like to have visibility on how CGSM will create programming, value for the alumni. Would love to understand what the long term goal is and what the future looks like for CGSM alumni. Roadmap of what we can expect. Continued spotlight on Consortium alumni and their achievement and contributions back to the organization. make access exclusive, as in only Consortium folks have access to talk to X leader at X company (can do at Nat'l or local level) This survey is a great start to identifying ways to be engaged. Please let us know the ideas generated. Knowing more about what regional chapters are doing (maybe a calendar) might also encourage participation for those of us who travel and might want to connect. Please publish regional chapter activities. I don't know whether Consortium alumni meet in the SF Bay Area and would love to join if they do. Make a splash and do something exciting. Less than 10% of us our willing to volunteer our time because we do not feel supported at the regional level. Good people that care about the Consortium are out there but they are not going to just volunteer their time and money...need to figure out to overcome this challenge. I lived in Europe (London) for a while - so having overseas chapters may help. More outreach rather than just the ask for donations. Love to see "Class Notes". How we can be involved without traveling 3/5/7 hours. I keep my information up to date with CGSM but I have not received any information on the Dallas Alumni Club. Monthly Newsletters via would be helpful. Or, an updated website with information on programs, events, and opportunities. Have current students volunteer time to call alumni to survey them on how they can reconnect and remain involved with the organization Create more events, communication, services & resources, and dialogue with and between alumni Ensure regional liaisons are actively engaging with regional alums via events, etc More outreach. The only real outreach I receive is the annual letter to contribute to the Consortium. I think that alumni participation can be increased by having regularly scheduled events where we can hear from successful Consortium alums (or other successful speakers). n/a

Q15: Please provide any overall comments regarding how we can encourage alumni participation in Consortium activities/events. Answered: 46 Skipped: 101 Honestly, I don't know. The further I've moved away from the MBA and CGSM, the less influence they have on me. I appreciate the degree and the financial support for my education. However, other life issues and experiences have come along and replaced the MBA community and CGSM on my priority list. Make it easy. Highlight the value. Continue to make the ask (whether that be for participation or financial support). Offer some of the same opportunities for growth as current students at an alumni and experienced MBA (on-line courses/webinars etc.) If you focus on meeting the needs of the target audience, you will get what you need in return. Your end goal for engagement with alums can't be centered on giving. Your end goal should be a focus on how the Consortium can add value to alums. When you do this, the giving back will be exponential to the value you have given. I live in Irvine, so more events in Orange County would be helpful. Most are in LA. I have not heard much from the DC chapter. I know they exist, but have not really been engaged by them. Need to publish an alumni directory - would love to catch up with some of my classmates. Hold events in San Francisco and in Silicon Valley. There are a lot of locations to have mixers, book clubs, salsa classes, etc. The current San Francisco reps haven't planned anything. For fundraising, I would create a friendly little competition between schools and also between classes with some sort of prize at the end of the competition. Also do 5 and 10 year challenges. Consortium has created confusion with multiple funds and current mission. I think most alumni are like me wanting their donations to be targeted to students - esp. those interested in attending the alumnus MBA program More coordination, organization and support for regional chairs. Currently the onus is on the head of the regional chapter to plan, execute, and engage with alumni. As busy professionals this is very hard to do. Diversification of types of events and activities and locations Have active city chapters. Promote events to alumni in the area. I didn't know there was a St. Louis chapter. I'm in Kansas City right now. More frequent regional activities.

Q16: Would you be willing to discuss any of your above responses by phone with a Consortium representative? Answered: 132 Skipped: 15
