1 The City of South Daytona Parks & Recreation Department OFFICE LOCATION: 504 Big Tree Road South Daytona, FL (fax) Office Hours 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday With over 63 acres of parklands in South Daytona, there is something for everyone to enjoy: Nature parks, pavilion rentals, memorial pier, playgrounds, disc golf, boat & kayak launch, walking trails, ball fields, grills, tennis & racquetball courts, basketball, splash park and scenic lakes. Many are equipped with lighted paths for night use and all are handicap accessible. 2 REGISTRATION POLICIES 1. All participants must be registered prior to the start of the session. 2. All participants must pay the full amount of the session. 3. Participants may register at a one-half fee once the first half of the session has been completed. 4. Recreation insurance is mandatory for the following programs: (Youth Sports, Camp Programs, Tennis, & Gymnastics) 5. Insurance is valid from June 2013 through May 2014 and is renewable in June A refund may be received only after the first class. No refunds will be given after that point. No exceptions! An administrative fee of $5.00 will be assessed to all refunds. 7. On-line registration now available at 8. Participants not residing in S. Daytona city limits must pay a non resident fee of $5.00/session & $10.00/sport effective Sept. 1, ADULT RECREATION PROGRAMS COMMUNITY STITCHING CIRCLE Join your neighbors and friends with your work in progress or start something new. Visit our creative circle to share ideas about your favorite projects including: sewing, knitting, crocheting, latch hook, counted cross stitch, needle point and quilting. Days: Fridays 10:00 - Noon No Cost TAI CHI Sifu Laurie Gomon Ring, Instructor Learn slow movement exercises derived from traditional Chinese healing arts that improve balance, concentration, strength, flexibility and health. 4 RECREATION PROGRAMS PAW PAW CHAPTER OF THE NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY This local chapter is a great way to educate yourself about native plants and landscapes. The chapter hosts meetings, field excursions, guest speakers, community service projects and more. SPRING COMMUNITY TREASURE SALE Join the City of South Daytona on Saturday, March 15 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. for our Spring Community Treasure Sale as we host one of the areas largest ever community wide yard/garage and artist/crafter sales events at Reed Canal Park. To attract large crowds to the sale we will provide advance publicity, The DJ Man, children s activities, food vendors and more excitement. In addition, this is a great opportunity to clean out your garage or shed while making a little extra money. An organization that collects donations and a trash bin will be on site at the end of the sale to collect any items you do not want to take back home with you. To reserve your 12 x 12 space, please visit the, 504 Big Tree Road, to complete the application or call us at to request an application be mailed to you.
