These teams and numerous intramural sports create diverse opportunities on campus to watch or play a game in sports ranging from baseball to rowing. 4 an urban oasis Kalin Rooney A Day in My Life 6:30 a.m. Lift weights with Coach Ange, the L&C strength and conditioning coach. 9 a.m. Economics thesis class we discuss possible research topics and methods. A historic estate on 137 wooded acres in Portland, the Lewis & Clark campus is regularly praised as one of the most beautiful in the country. It s much more than a pretty place, however. Here, you ll find modern facilities to continue your studies outside the classroom or take a break from your busy schedule when you need it. Pamplin Sports Center The main location for sports and athletic recreation at Lewis & Clark includes a weight room, swimming pool, covered tennis court, outdoor track, and basketball courts that are free for all L&C students. All have recreational hours almost every day during the academic year. Library Open 24 hours per day on weekdays, the Aubrey R. Watzek Library will be one of your most-used resources on campus. It offers great areas for studying (alone or with a group), a collection of over 740,000 items, and reference librarians available seven days a week to help you develop a research strategy. And if Watzek doesn t have what you need, they ll help you get it through Summit (a 36-member library consortium) or free interlibrary loan. Templeton Campus Center In this campus hub, you ll find dining halls, the Bookstore, and offices for student groups including student government (ASLC), Campus Activities Board (CAB), KLC Studios, and student publications. You can work on a paper in the Dubach Computer Labs, or you can just hang out in one of several student lounge areas. East Recreation Center If it s activity you seek, the recreation center may be just the place for you. Complete with workout equipment (treadmills and an elliptical machine), a pool table, a Ping-Pong table, and a foosball table, the center is a great place to have fun and find a little stress relief. Platteau Located in Platt Hall, this student-run art center includes a ceramics studio, photo lab, dance space, and a sound isolation room for music. The center is used by students for drawing, painting, playing music, dancing, and relaxing. It regularly hosts an art show, concerts, poetry readings, open mic nights, and informal student-run art classes. Lower Campus This ultimate recreational area includes lawns perfect for throwing a Frisbee, playing football, practicing lacrosse, staging water fights, and any other outdoor activity you can dream up. Here you can also enjoy the outdoor pool, tennis courts, rose garden, and an incredible view of Mount Hood. 11:30 a.m. Grab some coffee and lunch and relax in the Dovecote. 12:30 p.m. Head to the Frank Manor house for my work study job as an Admissions intern. 3 p.m. Pitching time! Hit the field for softball practice. 6 p.m. Cook some dinner with my roommates in my on-campus apartment. 7 p.m. Finish my homework at my favorite study spot in the library. 9 p.m. Grab ice cream with friends downtown at Salt & Straw! 11 p.m. Finally time to sleep, zzzzz :). 6 7

Multiple dining locations, hours that work for your schedule, and flexible meal plans make it easy to find what you need when you want it. Bon Appétit shares the college s commitment to sustainability. Through its Farm to Fork program, Bon Appétit spends twenty cents of every dollar on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. In addition, food-recovery certification helps to fight both food waste and hunger. Fields The main dining room, located in Templeton Campus Center, features seating options for large and small groups including booths with Apple TVs. With the largest array of options on campus, here you can find hot dishes ranging from international specialties to comfort food, graze from the salad bar, or just grab some cereal and ice cream. Maggie s Located among the residence halls, the popular Maggie s is a combination café and convenience store that s open seven days a week from morning till late night. It features a full lineup of hot and cold beverages and a tempting array of pastries and other portable food items for when you need a quick meal or snack on the go. Dovecote In the heart of the academic campus, this is a great place to grab a hot drink or cold beverage between classes. The Dovecote also offers ready-made sandwiches, salads, soups, pastries, and other snacks. Trail Room Located in Templeton Campus Center, this is unofficially the official campus grill, with a wide range of food options for both on- and off-campus students, as well as faculty and staff. Katie-Lauren Dunbar A Day in My Life 6:30 a.m. Grab a granola bar and head to the gym for some weightlifting to start off the day. 8 a.m. Invertebrate Zoology we discuss the diversity of life and evolution! 9:40 a.m. Gain new insight into the mind and behavioral development and change in Psych :30 a.m. Chat with friends over lunch on the sunny Glade. Noon Work time in the Admissions Office! 3 p.m. Dive into the pool for afternoon practice. 5:30 p.m. Roommate dinner time. 6:30 p.m. Time to get started on some homework! 8 p.m. Take an ice cream break and get in an episode of Lost. 10:45 p.m. If all goes as planned, hop in bed early to get some sleep. 8

It s time to start thinking about where you might find your best fit! Stewart Stewart residents share a commitment to a living environment that supports healthy choices. While the hall is generally quiet, the large recreation room and organized activities make Akin it a lively, fun place to live. Residents of this multiculturally themed hall are committed to learning about one another. Impromptu studentcooked dinners featuring foods from different countries help foster the community here. options and amenities We offer both single-sex and co-ed floors with single-sex or co-ed restroom options. Sex-neutral housing is also available for students of alternative sexuality or gender identity, their allies, and other students who would feel more comfortable and safer in a living environment other than the traditional male-male or female-female roommate pairings. Our halls offer a variety of facilities and services, including exercise equipment, pool tables, pianos, and movable furniture. Amenities vary from hall to hall, but the following are offered in each location: Wireless Internet Free laundry Quiet study areas On-call staff and exterior door security Cable TV and fireplaces in the main lounge Kitchens and snack and beverage machines Copeland Made up of seven wings, Copeland is much like Portland: a cool city with many great neighborhoods. The sense of community is so strong that residents often carry it with them to other venues, attending events on campus in groups. Forest With five halls situated around a large central lounge, Forest is like a traditional residence hall split into small communities. Residents can enjoy the benefits of large and small settings alike and find the elements that suit them best. Platt-Howard Platt-Howard is full of creative energy and excitement. Residents are eager to get to know one another, explore the college experience, and become involved in what Lewis & Clark has to offer. Hartzfeld, Holmes, and The Apartments Open to upper-division students, these buildings offer suites with private bathrooms, larger-thanaverage rooms, and apartmentstyle accommodations. Odell Centrally located and one of the smallest halls, Odell typically houses a close-knit community. The students living here often gather in lounges, form study groups, or just hang out around the fireplace together. livinglearning communities At Lewis & Clark your education continues even after you leave the classroom.
