1 Technology Camp Tim Ricchuiti Rising Classes Five-Eight June and June 18-21; 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. *Cost: $325 The technology camp assists students as they build facility in both typing and computer skills. In the typing segment, students learn basic skills and work to acquire a speed of up to thirty words per minute. In the computer-skills segment, students learn how to manipulate files in Microsoft Windows and use the basic functions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Specific emphasis will be placed on skills required of students during the academic year. SAT/PSAT/ACT Test Prep Tim Ricchuiti Providence Alumni, Rising Sophmores to Seniors June 11-14, and June 18-21, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. *Cost: $750 For Providence alumni looking to make the most of their abilities on the standardized tests necessary for college admissions, scholarships, and more, Mr. Ricchuiti will lead a twoweek overview of strategies, tips, and tricks for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Topics covered will include the structure of the test and the pacing necessary to maximize student performance, individual strategies for each of the sections, and an overview of how these tests factor into the college admissions process.
2 Drama Camp Jenay Puckett and Tara Green Rising Classes One-Five June 18-22; 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. *Cost: $230 Students will learn basic acting skills through drama games and by learning a role in a play. They will perform for their adoring fans on the final day of class! Patriot Fun Camp Brian Boubel and Mark Gibson Rising Classes One-Five June 18-21; 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Classes Four and Five), June 25-28; 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Classes One-Three) *Cost: $120 Rising Classes One-Five students can enjoy a fun and entertaining camp playing various dodgeball games, kickball games, relay games, and team-building activies. Students will also learn the fundamentals of locomotor skills such as skipping, jogging, leaping, jumping, dodging, and balancing. The fee for the camp will include devotionals emphasizing Christian character, snacks, and an introduction to the P.E. coaches and P.E. games. It will be a lot of fun!
3 Basketball Camp Brian Boubel Rising Classes One-Five (Boys and Girls) June 18-21; 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Rising Classes One-Three), June 25-28; 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Rising Classes Four and Five) *Cost: $130 Rising Classes One-Three students will learn basics skills of basketball. They will learn how to dribble, pass, shoot, and play defense and offense. Several fun games will be played as well. Rising Classes Four and Five students will learn advanced skills such as fast break offense, setting up and running an offense, defensive zones, and pressing. Several fun games will be played as well. The fee for the camp will include devotionals emphasizing Christian character, snacks, quality training and teaching, and a T-shirt. Patriot Football Skilled Position Session Mark Gibson Rising Classes Four-Eight June 22; 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. *Cost: $110 We will work on skills and techniques that will help wide receivers, running backs, linebackers, cornerbacks, and safeties.
4 Public Speaking Practicum Tag Green Rising Class Five - Graduates of Class Eight June 25-29; 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. *Cost: $175 Have you ever had that horrifying feeling of having to speak in front of a group of people, knowing that what you want to communicate may not be what ultimately comes out of your month? You can help your child hone the vital skill of public speaking at the Public Speaking Practicum this summer. The clinic will focus on helping students develop a systematic approach for presenting information orally, examining both verbal and non-verbal techniques to help one be an effective speaker. Patriot Football Lineman Session Mark Gibson Rising Classes Four-Eight June 29; 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. *Cost: $110 We will work on skills and techniques that will help offensive and defensive linemen.
5 Jump Start into Class One Gigi Adams and Sue Windrick Rising Class One August 6-10; 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. *Cost: $225 Developed in 2006, Jump Start now begins its thirteenth year preparing Class One students for their first formal school experience. Jump Start students are introduced to Providence classroom etiquette. We practice listening skills and expose the students to beginning math concepts, phonograms, and even spelling rules! Our desire is to quell fears and excite the students about Class One.
