2 Letter from the Vice President Dear Ball State student, I m so pleased to welcome you to Ball State University and Welcome Week The events of this week build on the summer orientation program, introduce you to Ball State s vibrant campus life, and help you make important connections within our supportive campus community. During Welcome Week, you will have opportunities to learn how to make a successful transition to college, explore our comprehensive resources to help you in that transition, and meet other students. One of my favorite events of the year is the Freshman Convocation on Sunday, August 23. President Ferguson will formally welcome you, the class of 2019, to Ball State University. This event will introduce you to Ball State s academic traditions and help you begin on the right foot as you start classes in your first semester. The Freshman Convocation is the first official event for new freshmen at Ball State. I look forward to seeing you there! You begin your studies here at an exciting time in Ball State s history. Our campus is thriving with recently built or renovated residence halls, state-of-the-art learning labs, academic buildings and studios, and incredible recreational facilities. We are continuing to build on our tradition of innovation by providing you with unparalleled access to world-class faculty and chances to learn in an intense, creative, and collaborative way.
