2 CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE/ TUITION REIMBURSEMENT SPRING 2012 Full Time & Adjunct Faculty Both conference attendance and tuition costs are reimbursable in the same semester. Apply for one or both as soon as possible. Documents are available online or in Academic Affairs, G Information for all full-time and adjunct faculty will be sent only through the #-ELAC Faculty List. Formal acknowledgement of conference reimbursement from Cathy Medina, President s Office, and tuition reimbursement from Lydia takes place through campus mail. Check your ELAC mail box or have your mail forwarded to another ELAC center. Fiscal Office informs faculty of check pick-up through #-ELAC Faculty List only. If checks are not picked up within six months, they are returned to the District Office. Contact Lydia if you have any questions about conference attendance and/or tuition reimbursement. Faculty News Tom Atha one of our instructors has just released an E book that he wrote on Amazon.com. Below is some information about him and the link to the book. Tom Atha is an instructor in Speech - Theatre at ELAC. He has just had an E book come out on Amazon.com. It is a wild spoof on motivational books. The title is Forever FWAP, by Tommy Atha. ie=utf8&qid= &sr=8-1 He is also a fight and swordfight choreographer for theatre and movies and teaches a sword fighting class at ELAC. Three movies that he choreographed fights for are opening this year: Mansion of Blood, starring Gary Busey and Robert Picardo. (He also plays the Mummy in Mansion of Blood.) Cotton, starring Gary Cole. The Extra, starring Tyrone Power, Jr. and John Saxon. 2

3 ELAC Sports Brief SOCCER Congratulations to ELAC Men's Soccer Players Galo Moren, George Rodriguez, Kevin Gomez and Yuchen Wang for accepting scholarships to Kansas Wesleyan University and to Antgoby Gonzalez for accepting a scholarship to Hawaii Hilo University. FOOTBALL Husky student-athlete, Michael Allen (Lynwood High School) has earned a scholarship to study and play football at Bowling Green University in Ohio. Michael earned his A.A. Degree following the 2011 Fall semester. He was a receiver on the 2009 and 2010 ELAC football teams earning "All Conference" both seasons. 7 Anger Management Sessions Joselyn Geaga-Rosenthal from the campus Health Center will once again be offering Anger Management sessions to any interested student. The Group I sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 12:00 1:30 p.m. beginning on February 21 st at the campus Health Center in the G-8 building room 111.
