2 AgriLife Topic The Land Grant Mission Participant gain knowledge of the establishment, development, mission and current relevancy of the land grant system MBTI Personality Inventory Participant : describe their preferred style of energy expenditure, their preferred perceptual style, their preferred decision making style, and their style of time/work management apply knowledge of their preferred styles to effective communication, stress management, problem solving, and team building learn effective communication with persons whose styles are different from their own describe their preferred motivational style, with emphasis on effectively motivating persons different from themselves Core: Building Relationships and Interpersonal Skills Participant Outcomes - While engaged in a scenario based exercise, participants will demonstrate skills pertaining to leadership, team building, effective communication and thinking on your feet. Strategies for Professional Communication Participant Outcomes: - Identify communication priorities how to communicate, when, where and to whom - Recognize that good communication requires listening skills - Understand how to control conversations, gain understanding and reach a desired end point - Appreciate the benefits of clear, concise, easily, understood communication 2
