3 The Stanley L. Archer Memorial Award Above: Dr. Archer as a Cadet at Texas A&M The Stanley L. Archer Memorial Award is awarded to the best paper written in response to an assignment in an Early Modern, Renaissance, or Shakespeare class (e.g., ENGL 312, 314, 315, 316, 317, 412, 414, or appropriate 390, 415, or 481) by a student at TAMU during the calendar year of The winner will receive a certificate of recognition at the Department s annual Lewis Lecture, as well as a check for $500 and a brief biography of Dr. Stanley Archer. To Enter: Submit a clean copy of paper (no professor s marks or comments), with a cover page indicating the name of the course and professor for whom the paper was written, date/term, and name and UIN of the submitter. The student s name should be removed from all pages except the cover page. Entries must be attached to an and submitted to Barbara Newsom (b-newsom@tamu.edu) by 5:00 p.m. on February 8, 2012.

4 english language and literature society English Language and Literature Society (ELLS) is an organization that connects members with other reading and writing enthusiasts and provides students with the opportunity to mix informally with peers and faculty who share similar interests. Activities include career and graduate school information nights, invited faculty presentations, and socials. Members wear honor cords at graduation. I will always remembers how I fed thousands of families and their lives are just a little bit better because of all of our support and passion behind the campaign. Kaitlyn Sauers, Kent State, Hunger & Homelessness campaign intern, Spring 2011 Interns work with issues they care about, like expanding public transportation, making our energy more efficient, or ending taxpayer subsidies for unhealthy foods. --Organize events around weatherizing local homes and community buildings or fundraise for local shelters and learn skills such as... **Campaign strategy, event planning, public relations, volunteer management, fundraising** Two Spring Internships with Cushing Library 1) Assisting in the compilation of an inventory of our considerable holdings of paintings, etchings, drawings etc. The job will require taking photographs, creating descriptions of the items (artist, date of work, provenance, subject etc.) and working with a Cushing staff member to enter the data in the appropriate depository 2) Assisting in the compilation of a comprehensive bibliography of the Garnett Family Collection in Cushing Library. Many of the books in the collection come directly from the family and are inscribed and have other marks of ownership that need to be documented (e.g. bookplates).
