Participants requesting a refund before the first class will receive a full refund. Requests made after the first class, but before the second class will receive a 75% of the class fee. All refunds will be in the form of a check. Payments The Recreation Department accepts cash, checks and credit cards. We take Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards in our office only. There will be a 3% charge for credit card payments. Varsity Sport Training Saturdays King Center (1107 Adrian St) 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Junior High and High School athletes come in and train with our coaches. Weight room training for sports and sport specific drills and supervised workouts to help you become the best athlete you can be. For more information contact the King Center at King Center After School Program Now to May 27 Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays King Center (1107 Adrian St) 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. This program offers supervised games, crafts, computer lab, tutoring, and recreational activities for children. The Comcast Media Lab in the Flamingo Brown Room is used for tutoring and online studies and activities. We ve also added the King Center Comcast Digital Recording Studio for youth during the after-school program hours. Free dinner served from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. daily for all school-aged youth. Off Season Youth Football Camp Sunday, May 1 Withington J-High 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Grades 2 nd thru 5 th Attend this free off-season football camp run by Jackson High Football Coaches. You will work on footwork, blocking, tackling, passing, and other football fundamentals. Corey Pryor Track-n-field Camp June 20 to July 20 Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays Withington Stadium Track 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. $20 for /$40 for non- Attend this program to get a jump start on the sport track and field. Take part in such events as 200m, 400m, long-jump and team relays. Not only will you be working on the fundamentals of track and field, you will participate in track and field meets. King Center Summer Youth Program June 27 to August 10 King Center (1107 Adrian St.) 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fridays This Summer Youth Program is a free fun-filled daycamp style program that includes: free breakfast and lunch (provided by Jackson Public Schools), recreational games and activities, arts and crafts, sports camps and leagues, drama and music programs, educational and fun field trips, culture exposure trips and fun, fun, fun! Register June 20 to 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the King Center. Tween Night Now to May 27 Fridays King Center (1107 Adrian St.) 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tweens in 6 th thru 8 th grade come hang out and have some fun with our staff. Open gyms, table games, air hockey tournaments, ping-pong, basketball shoot-outs and a whole lot more. Pizza served every Friday. Come work on a puzzle, participate in our activities or just enjoy our company and get a free meal. Sharp Park Wedding Reservations The Ella Sharp Park Rose Garden or the Rotunda can be reserved for your wedding. The Rose Garden holds approximately 200 people. The Rotunda is 28 x 50 and holds approximately 75 people. There is no electrical outlets at either location. A $60 non-refundable fee will be charged at the time of reservation. Applications are available on our website. Kiwanis Picnic Shelter Rental This picnic shelter in Kiwanis Park (1521 Blakely Street). The shelter is 16 x 40, has electricity and holds approximately 50 people. A $30 non-refundable fee will be charged at the time of reservation. An additional $20 fee is due when you take the restroom key. This fee will be returned to you when the key is returned. The restroom key can be picked-up no sooner than two days prior and returned no later than two days after your event. Applications are available on our website.
