Top-ranked Iowa (15-0) face eighth-seeded Cha anooga (12-5) on Saturday at 12 p.m. (CT) in the quarterfinal round. Minnesota and Cornell will meet in the 4/5 dual and face the winner of Iowa/UT-Cha anooga in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, Missouri earned the No. 2 seed and will face seventhseeded Illinois (13-4). Ohio State is the threeseed and will face sixth-seeded Lehigh (13-4). The four quarterfinals are Saturday at 12 p.m., with the semifinals to follow at 3 p.m. The championship and third-place duals are Sunday at 11:30 a.m. BTN will televise the semifinals and the finals. Of the 10 weight classes, none have more ranked compe tors than 133 and 157. Both weight classes feature seven ranked wrestlers. There are six ranked wrestlers at 125 (including four of the top five), 141, 174, 184, and 197. Five ranked wrestlers are in the field at 165, and four of the heavyweights are ranked, none higher than Iowa s Bobby Telford (4). BIG TEN CHAMPIONS Iowa won the Big Ten regular season dual tle with a 22-9 win over Michigan on Feb. 13. The Hawkeyes finished the Big Ten season 9-0, one dual ahead of Nebraska (8-1) and Ohio State (8-1). The Hawkeyes have won or shared seven of the last eight Big Ten dual championships, and have won or shared the regular season tle eight mes since the conference started recognizing a dual meet champion in Iowa won the tle outright in 2000, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2015, and shared the tle in 2003 and THOMAS GILMAN, 125 POUNDS Gilman is 23-1 overall and 14-0 in duals. The Hawkeyes have maintained the top spot all season and enter the weekend as the unanimous No. 1, claiming all 12 first-place votes. CARVER HAWKEYE ARENA The Hawkeyes are 9-0 inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena this season and have a all- me record at home since Carver started hos ng wrestling duals in The Hawkeyes have recorded 20 undefeated season in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the most recent in (9-0). Carver-Hawkeye Arena has hosted three Big Ten Championships (1983, 1994, 2005) and four NCAA Championships (1986, 1991, 1995, 2001). The Hawkeyes have won five tournament tles on their home mat, including the 1983 and 1994 Big Ten Championships, and the 1986, 1991 and 1995 NCAA Championships. Carver-Hawkeye Arena is hos ng the Na onal Duals for the third me (1998, 1999). BATTLE TESTED The top-ranked Hawkeyes finished their road schedule with a 6-0 record, including five wins against ranked opponents and four wins against top 10 opponents. Iowa traveled 5,226 miles since opening the dual schedule at Rutgers on Jan. 2. That includes 3,370 miles in the air -- Rutgers, Ohio State, Maryland, Penn State -- and 1,856 miles on the road to S llwater, Okla., and Minneapolis. The Hawkeyes also won the Midlands Championships on Dec. 30, a 460 mile roundtrip trip to Evanston, Illinois. Iowa defeated Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, on Jan. 4. The Hawkeyes return to St. John Arena March 7-8 for the Big Ten Championships.

A 1996 Olympic gold medalist and member of wrestling s Hall of Fame, Brands is only the eighth wrestling coach at the University of Iowa. The former Hawkeye wrestler was a four-time All-American and three-time national champion ( ) at Iowa. He has a (.912) overall and 67-6 (.918) Big Ten coaching record at Iowa, and a (.826) career mark. In eight-plus seasons as Iowa s head coach, Brands has led the Hawkeyes to three NCAA and Big Ten team titles, crowning nine NCAA champions, 11 Big Ten champions and 44 All-Americans. Iowa has honored 61 academic all-big Ten recipients, including a schoolrecord 12 in The Hawkeyes have qualifi ed 72 wrestlers for the NCAA Championships in the last eight years, sending the entire 10-man lineup in 2009, 2010, and Iowa has also won or shared seven of the last eight Big Ten regular season titles. During Brands tenure, Iowa set school records for longest dual unbeaten (84) and winning streaks (69), longest dual road unbeaten (51) and winning streaks (44), most Carver-Hawkeye Arena victories (11) and most dual shutouts (8). Iowa also made another entry in the record books, setting the then-national collegiate dual meet attendance record of 15,955 when Iowa defeated Iowa State, 20-15, on Dec. 6, 2008, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa has led the nation in attendance in each of Brands eight seasons, setting an NCAA all-time attendance average of 9,014 in Brands was named 2008 NWCA Coach of the Year after leading the Hawkeyes to their fi rst NCAA team title since 2000 and their fi rst Big Ten team title since He was named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2008, 2009 and 2010, becoming the fi rst coach in conference history to earn the honor in three consecutive seasons. Brands served as head coach at Virginia Tech University for two seasons ( ), recording a dual mark. In his fi rst season with the Hokies, Brands led the team to the 2005 regular season Atlantic Coast Conference title, set a school record for dual meet wins (16) and had a school-record fi ve wrestlers qualify for the NCAA Championships. During his tenure, Virginia Tech crowned fi ve ACC champions and had two All-Americans. Senior heavyweight Mike Faust was named 2006 ACC Wrestler of the Year. Prior to taking the helm at Virginia Tech, Brands was an assistant coach at Iowa for 12 seasons ( ). He helped the Hawkeyes to a dual record, seven NCAA and eight Big Ten team titles, while crowning 23 NCAA champions, 73 All-Americans and 36 Big Ten champions. He was named the National Wrestling Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year in In 2004, he was one of three coaches for the U.S. Olympic freestyle wrestling team, participating in Athens. Brands also served as assistant coach for the 2002 and 2003 U.S. Freestyle World Teams, earning Freestyle Coach of the Year honors from USA Wrestling both years. He was also a member of the U.S. coaching staff at the 2001 World Championships, and has coached a number of other U.S. teams in international competition. As a competitor, Brands won the 1996 Olympic freestyle gold medal at pounds in Atlanta, GA. He also won a gold medal at the 1993 World Freestyle Championships in Toronto, two World Cup gold medals (1994, 1995) and was the 1995 Pan American Games champion.
