Drop your bags in your room then ease into the weekend with a glass of wine, beer, or soda and light snacks as you reconnect with classmates at our class of 58 welcome reception. A great way to kick off our 60th Reunion! Faculty Club, Cornell Courtyard 4:00-6:00 pm Welcome Reception at Keeney Quad Join Reunion attendees from the 25 th 75 th classes in the picturesque courtyard outside Brown s largest and most recently renovated residence hall. Grab a beer, wine, or soda from the open bar, meet alumni from other classes, enjoy the beautiful festive scenery, and get in the reunion groove before heading to your Friday night class event. Keeney Quad 6:00 11:00 pm 60th Reunion Kicko : Class of 58 Welcome Reception and Dinner [ $ ] Let s continue the celebration of our 60 th Reunion as we join our classmates over dinner and drinks inside the Faculty Club. The event begins with cocktails and hors d oeuvres, and the dinner menu, prepared specially for our class, offers a choice of chicken, steak or vegetarian entrees accompanied by your choice of beverage. We pulled out all the stops for this event! Cost: $58 per person. Faculty Club Huttner Room, One Magee Street

If any remaining tickets are available at the event, an additional at-the-door service fee above the ticket price will be charged. 9:00 pm 1:00 am Campus Dance [ $ ] One of Brown s best-loved Reunion Weekend traditions, Campus Dance brings more than 11,000 people to the university to dance the night away under a sky lit with hundreds of paper lanterns. Tables for each Reunion class are reserved throughout the College Green and Simmons Quad (Lincoln Field). There are five beverage areas throughout the dance; beverage tokens can be purchased in the lobby of Salomon Hall or behind Wilson Hall. Tickets not purchased in advance will go on sale beginning at 8:30 pm. Cost: Campus Dance tickets: $30 in advance for alumni and their guests, $35 at the gate; beverage tokens: $35 for set of 5, $65 for set of 10. Sponsored by the Brown Alumni Association. Simmons Quadrangle (Lincoln Field) 11:00 am Noon Alumni Reunion Forum: Our Politics, Our Future Moderator : Tad Devine 78, chief strategist for the Bernie Sanders 2016 campaign, senior adviser in Al Gore s 2000 and John Kerry s 2004 presidential campaigns Panelists : Tom Perez 83, chairman of the Democratic National Committee; Suzi LeVine 93, United States ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein; and Tahesha Way 93, New Jersey secretary of state Since the United States inception, the ideas of America and democracy have been interwoven in a complex relationship. Currently, that relationship may be more complicated than ever. As doubts swirl in the media over the conduct of key American political figures and the validity of the electoral process the cornerstone of American democracy democracy itself seems at risk. This forum features a panel of Brown alumni whose careers have been deeply involved in American politics. Join an intriguing discussion on what it means to be a citizen in today s American democracy, the impact of social media and other technologies on democracies and why education and participation are more important than ever to the democratic process. 6 11:00 am Noon Alumni Reunion Forum: Improvisation and Innovation: Responding to Global Disasters and Crises Moderator: Adam Levine, M.D., associate professor of emergency medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School and director of the Humanitarian Innovation Initiative Panelists: David Rutstein M.D. 83, former deputy surgeon general leading the U.S. Public Health Service response to the Indian Ocean tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and the Haiti earthquake; Maria Kasparian 05, executive director of Edesia; and Hans Sheng Chia 14, analytics manager for GiveDirectly, currently working on its Puerto Rico response Crises around the world, ranging from armed conflicts to natural disasters, continue to leave millions of people in need of humanitarian assistance. As the need for aid continues to grow with each passing year, so has the overall size of the humanitarian workforce and the diversity of actors involved in emergency response efforts. In order to remain relevant and meet these growing needs, global humanitarianism must learn to both improvise and innovate in reaction to the rising challenges of the 21st century. Learn from a panel of Brown alumni who are working to address the critical needs of populations affected by disasters and crises and find out how they hope to improve the delivery of humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations around the world. Once again we ll enjoy a cocktail hour prior to a dinner of your choice of chicken, salmon or vegetarian grilled to perfection. 10 9:30 am Commencement Procession One of Brown s oldest and greatest traditions, the Procession brings together the entire Brown community. Don t miss the opportunity to march with your classmates! Each class has a special place in the Procession, which travels from University Hall through the Van Wickle gates and down College Hill. The Procession steps off promptly at 9:45 am. Alumni are asked to assemble at their assigned class locations by 9:30 am. 11:30 am 1:00 pm Alumni Grab n Go Lunch [ $ ] Grab n Go lunch is available for all classes from the 5 th through the 75 th Reunions. After your return up College Hill, grab your lunch in the Sharpe Refectory and enjoy time with your classmates before Reunion Weekend comes to an end. Pre-registration is recommended.
