2 About the artists The fantastic works of art you see in this calendar were created by 4-year-olds in the School Readiness preschool program at Cooperative Educational Services in Trumbull. The accredited full-day program serves children who live in Bridgeport or whose parents work in Bridgeport. The paintings were on a bulletin board in the preschool s hallway, where a photographer noticed them. Struck by the vivid colors and imaginative use of paint and small items, he photographed each one. When the photos were opened on a computer, the paintings came alive. The textures and colors were even more striking and captivating. The photographer was determined to show the children s work and this calendar was one idea.

3 About Cooperative Educational Services C.E.S. was created in 1976 by Connecticut legislative action to help neighboring school districts communicate and collaborate to provide high quality, cost-efficient programs and services. C.E.S. is one of six regional educational service centers (RESCs) and a member of the RESC Alliance. The mission of C.E.S. is to identify and provide quality educational opportunities to students, educators, families and communities. It s our goal to provide innovative, cutting-edge programs and services to meet the demands of our Fairfield County school district and communities. C.E.S.
