3 Scheduled Presentations Training All hours of the conference are suitable for general training hours for law enforcement personnel. TAC Training Clif Harris, DPS Training Section will be providing Terminal Agency Coordinator training on Monday April 20. Juvenile Case Management The Juvenile Case Management System (JCMS) under development by the Texas Conference of Urban Counties will provide a comprehensive justice system, from law enforcement through probation and supervision. Based on Dallas County's award winning Juvenile Information System, portions of JCMS will be available to all counties who use Caseworker after January Mr. Gray is the TechShare Program Manager for the Texas Conference of Urban Counties. He oversees and directs the activities of the collaborative information technology projects underway at the Conference of Urban Counties. CJIS Alan Ferritti, DPS CJIS will present the status of Security Reviews and TLETS Conversions, New Technical Security Audit for Law Enforcement Agencies, The CJIS Security Policy changes current and future, Security Awareness training Release Computer Security News Hearing Impaired and VOIP- Alma Barbee, Deafness Resource Specialist from the Deaf and Hard of hearing center will speak on issues in the community where jail and police systems are concerned. This will also cover resources available to Law Enforcement. Voyager Wireless Solutions ATSC Voyager representatives will speak on Multi Agency CJIS Data Access for Handheld and Mobile Devices. IJIS Integrated Justice Information System Representatives of the Governor s Office, Office of Court Administration, Conference of Urban Counties, County Information Resources Agency, DPS, DIR and others will discuss the efforts to create a plan and structure for a statewide IJIS. Topics of discussion include: Updates on TJI3 Plan, Charter Amendments, Local projects upgrades related to NEIM 28 Exchange Points, pilot projects related to NEIM 28 Exchange Points, Vendor Input Lessons Learned Hurricane Ike This panel will speak on Disaster Recovery lessons learned from Hurricane Ike with a focus on radio and cell phone communications and internet connectivity issues. Fuginet Fuginet is a database of Texas parolees and parole violators made available at no charge to law enforcement agencies. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is responsible for the supervision of 76,000+ parolees of which averages of 13,000 are parole violators. Most of these violators have an extensive criminal history and continue to commit criminal offenses. The Fuginet files include: an offender s photo, a physical description to include offender s scars, marks and tattoos, employment, residential, and family histories, individuals who visited the offender while he/she were incarcerated, and make/model/license plate of vehicle(s) being operated by the offender. Sex Offender Registration Eddie Contreras-DPS will be speaking about Sex Offender Reporting Procedures Bell County IT Solutions Tomas Stokes will speak about the comprehensive case management system that he built for Bell County. TLETS Update-system migration/dl reengineering/fta Program/ NVPS/LECS Joanne Jenkins is the DPS TLETS Training Officer with the Telecommunications Section (TLETS). Joanne will discuss the new Omnixx TLETS system and migration. She will also discuss the new DL reengineering, Failure to Appear Program, National Virtual Pointer System, and Law Enforcement Support Center. Computer Crimes Jason Buchanan, US Secret Service will be presenting information on Internet fraud schemes, Nigerian scans, Identity theft, credit card fraud, and the counterfeiting of checks, credit cards and money orders. Wide Area Radio Communications Coalition This panel will discuss the Brazos Valley Wide Area Communications System, a coalition consisting of the Cities of Bryan, College Station, and Brenham, the counties of Brazos and Washington, and Texas A & M University. The parties in this coalition are combining their resources to improve the capabilities of public safety and public service radio communications internally and among themselves, and to allow direct access to, and exchange of data. The coalition will also join with the Harris County Regional Radio System. T-DEX The Texas Data Exchange (TDEx) is a repository of near real time law enforcement incident data. TDEx allows its users to perform investigative queries, analysis, and subscription services using local agency records management (RMS) data and jail management (JMS) data from across the state and nation, as well as, other sources of related criminal justice data, such as TDCJ and OneDOJ. This allows TDEx users to share criminal justice information in an automated fashion in the same manner as they share it now, through several hours of manual work. DPS Crime Records Update David Gavin is the Assistant Chief of the DPS Administration Division, Crime Records and serves on the FBI s CJIS Advisory Policy Board. Updates on the DPS policies will be covered.
