Many thanks to Worshipful Sheldon and the brothers of Coral Springs Lodge # 373 (especially chef Tony) for the great meal. I believe that all of us will agree that Worshipful Sheldon Berkman and his officers and members are to be commended for their strong leadership and participation in all of our district functions, this year. Our Masters and Wardens September meeting was informative, entertaining, and fun, as usual. Brothers, we have 3 major district functions left to finish out the year: the Grand Masters dinner and Official Visit to the 33rd District on October 12th, the District Halloween Bash on October 27th, and the Masonic Home Christmas party in St. Petersburg on December 15th. Each lodge in the district has been issued 20 tickets for the Halloween Bash. It is important that we get the money for these tickets turned in to Harry Kienzle a.s.a.p. This will help us determine how much food and supplies to purchase for this charity event. The deadline to submit all Halloween ticket money is October 22nd, Monday. Here are the points standings for the worshipful Joe Weinberg award: coral springs 2880, Pompano 2600, Roe Fulkerson 2470, Doric-Seminole 1640, J. Dewey Hawkins 1450, Deerfield 1162, West Broward 950, Eureka North Shore 540. The award winner will be determined by the November Masters and Wardens meeting, and the trophy presented at the December Masters and Wardens meeting, which is also election night. BRANDAO PM 2600 NE 27th Terrace, Ft Lauderdale, Fl R: Cell: Next District School of Instruction Wednesday October 31, Coral Springs Lodge No 373 F&AM (Dinner 6:30 PM, Instruction at 7:30 PM) Dear Brothers: Our Masonic Etiquette teaches us how to behave in a Masonic Environment but let us not be fooled, once we learn it really well, we can act as gentlemen in any other environment, and this is the final purpose. When we address a Brother, we should say Brother last name. When we talk about him we say Brother full name. In a meeting we address the Chair only, generally the Worshipful Master, and he may direct any question we might have to the appropriate source for an answer. Florida Masonic titles are few and easy to remember: Most Worshipful: Grand Master + Past Grand Masters. Right Worshipful: Elected G.L. officers + District Deputy Grand Masters + PDDGMs. Right Reverend: Grand Chaplain only. Worshipful: Appointed Grand Lodge Officers + Lodge Masters + PMs. Right Honorable: District Instructors + PDIs. * Brother: All other Masons. (EA+FC+MM). Honorable: On mail envelope, before the name and address for all of the above. If you are not sure of the office or title, Brother will be acceptable and if the addressee understands our profession he will not mind. Conversely, addressing Brothers as gentlemen or sirs is offensive as we would be subtracting the affection that should reign among us. In Masonry we work in a credit system, we first receive the honorific title and it is up to us to work hard to deserve such an honor. It is not polite to introduce ourselves, sign letters, or refer to ourselves by using our honorific tittles. They are for the others to use. Using our offices is correct. Next School of Instruction: Wednesday October J. Dewey Hawkins (Hosted by Coral Springs Lodge), 6:30 PM (W. Sheldon Berkman promised a good one) 7:30 PM. Hope to see you there, and learn together. Fraternally Eduardo Brandao P.M. P.D.I. District Instructor * To be ratified at our next Grand Communication.
