16 ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES Students are referred to the attendance office upon reaching 6 unexcused absences. Notices are mailed to the parent/guardian to schedule a conference. The notice contains the number of unexcused absences, total number of absences and the percentage of days missed. Parent/guardians are provided with handouts containing information on policies and laws. In addition they are given an attendance improvement plan and information about chronic absences. Students/families are assessed to determine if attendance monitoring is necessary or if additional referrals to community agencies are necessary to assist with the current issue. The Attendance Office collaborates with Juvenile Court, DCS, Frontier Health, Camelot and other community agencies.

21 FRC Partnerships: Food Needs: Second Harvest Partnership Weekend Food Bags (9,465 bags distributed this year) 18 distributions (August May) compared to 14 distributions last year WCQR Project Thanksgiving Food boxes 60 food boxes to FRC families Rotary Sunrise Easter Food boxes 30 food boxes to FRC/HEP families Lighthouse Church SS Class Donated food/snacks throughout the year Kiwanis Donation Food needs at Roosevelt and Kennedy Clothing/Shoe Needs: Scottish Rites Partnership 502 pairs of shoes and socks distributed in November Rack Room Shoes that Fit Program 70 pairs of shoes donated to KCS students Kiwanis Coats-250 Coats were donated to KCS families this year. (Palmer & Elementary Schools)
