Brothers, I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. On behalf of the members of CS 373 I welcome you to this year s final meeting of our Masters and Wardens Association and we hope everyone enjoyed the meal. Now that all the elections have passed and we enter the Installation Season I can t help but, reflect on the past year. This time last year I was in a state of heightened stress and hasty preparation. Little did I know that I was about to embark on one of the most challenging yet rewarding jobs in my life. The role of Worshipful Master is not a right and it is not an assumed progression it is the most sacred role in the Lodge and it must be earned. To the incoming Masters of the 33 rd District I would like to offer this bit of advice: Be fair, be firm and most importantly be YOU. You are the Master and you call the shots. You should utilize and seek the counsel of your Past Masters, but remember that there is a reason the first word in their title is Past. That being said you will make mistakes and you may upset a Brother from time to time so be quick to recognize your failings and reconcile when necessary. Remember the Holy Scriptures are open so your lodge always has its most distinguished divine guest so ensure everyone acts accordingly. As I ride off into the sunset oh wait I just remembered that my request for retirement was denied. I am honored that you have elected me to serve as Vice Chairman next year. I am also honored to have been asked by our DDGM to fill the role of District Chairman for Lodge Assistance and Perpetual Membership. Best wishes to you and yours for a Happy and Prosperous New Year! See you all soon Fraternally, Nelson Rose Worshipful Master Coral Springs Lodge #373

March - 30 rd Doric Lodge No. 140 My Brothers, I don t know who is more surprised that I am writing this article, you or me! Thank you for electing me. It is truly my honor to serve as Chairman of Masters and Wardens, and I look forward to fulfilling my duties in the manner befitting the Office you have entrusted to me. I wish to thank and applaud the outgoing officers for their excellent work in bringing financial order back to M & W. For my part, RW Al although small in stature, has left me some very big boots to fill, and I welcome the challenge. I look forward to working not only with my fellow officers, but also you, our members. Masters and Wardens is an association, where each and every member is a vital part of our very existence. You are the conduit to your Lodges, and therefore play a vital role is ensuring that every brother is well informed of our district s activities. Without your diligent effort and support our mission will fail. We have a very busy schedule of Installations ahead of us, and we follow that with 2 major events in February; our Ladies evening dinner and the MMRL fundraising dinner. To those who have volunteered their help I thank you, and to those who haven t, please offer your assistance when called upon. We face tough economic times, but we cannot afford be complacent, we have Lodges to run, and an amazing Masonic home to help support. We are duty bound to give our best effort to ensure our obligations are met. We can do it, and we will do it; because we are the Fun 33rd Masonic district, and as our Grand Master states, Masons always rise to the occasion.
