The Search Committee includes faculty, parents, past parents, board members and staff of the Catholic Education Center. Interviews will be conducted at Trinity on Thursday, May 12. TRINITY DINNER AUCTION 2016 As in the past, this year we would like to have the majority of auction items donated. We are asking you to reach out to any resources you have. For example, would your employer donate? We would really appreciate sports tickets, time shares, condos, new patio sets, barbecue grills, and gift cards. If you or someone you know sells jewelry, Pampered Chef, Thirty-One or Party Lite, we would love to have these items, too. Other items include antiques, refinished or painted furniture. We will also have a basket raffle and in the past, popular baskets are often themed around Cardinal baseball, coffee, baking, hunting, dress up, margarita, technology, spa, around the world, wine, and super heroes, to name a few. Monetary donations are always welcomed. You can find a solicitation letter online at under the parents tab. If you have any questions, Therese or Mike Leonard at Tleonard@TrinityCatholicHigh.org. The next committee meeting is Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30 in room 40. All are welcome. Juniors should consider taking the ACT in April or June. That gives them time to get 1 or 2 scores before applications are sent to colleges in the fall. Colleges want students to send their scores directly to their Admissions Office from ACT, although their scores are posted on their Trinity transcript as well. Waiting until senior year to test puts a student at a disadvantage for admissions and possible scholarships. Summer School & Credit Recovery Does your student need to complete a course not passed at Trinity? If so, now is the time to begin looking into Summer School in your public school district or other ways to complete the needed credit. The Guidance Office at Trinity has received summer school information from several area school districts, but it is to your advantage to contact your district now to see when their Summer School material will be ready. GETTING REGISTERED EARLY IS IMPERATIVE! When grades are available from second semester of the current year, time will be very short to find the courses your child needs through the public school districts. Credits may also be made up through a correspondence course, or the ACE Program. Remember, students who are 1.0 or more credits deficient are not eligible to participate in athletics or other extracurricular activities, so be aware of your student s credit status. Be sure to visit the Guidance website frequently. Senior Parents If you received any notices about college acceptance, or scholarships your student has been awarded, please notify Mrs. Gogel by bringing in a copy of the award letter. We are assembling a list that will be printed in the graduation program. If you have not heard from your student s college(s) regarding admission or financial aid, now is a good time to call the admission and/or financial office to check on their status. Are there any forms or information missing? When might you expect an Awards Letter from the financial aid office? Your student s College Counselor can help. BE SURE TO TURN IN YOUR FINAL TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM! Academic Reminder for 4th Quarter It is important for all students to remember the need to finish the year with a strong academic performance! Here are just a few reasons: Juniors! Your college admission status and class rank with you apply to college in the fall will be based on SIX SEMESTERS. In other words, where you stand at the end of this year. Yes, colleges will look at your senior year performance, but initial admission and scholarship eligibility will be determined now! Any student who did not pass a class for 3rd Quarter, MUST PASS the class for 4th Quarter and pass the semester final exam to receive a passing semester grade. Semester grades determine credit. Yes, seniors, colleges do get your final transcript and this is your final high school academic record.
