1 Page State of West Virginia County of Putnam, to-wit Winfield, West Virginia PUTNAM COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION The Putnam County Board of Education met in a regular meeting pursuant to WVC c on Monday, August 15, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at the Central Office in Winfield, West Virginia. Flag Salute Members present. William Legg, Dr. Sam P. Sentelle, G. Robert Cunningham, Bruce Knell, and John Hudson, Secretary, were present. Dr. Craig Spicer was absent Approval of Minutes Motion by Robert Cunningham, seconded by Bruce Knell, to approve the minutes of the meeting of August 1, 2016, as read. Motion carried. Vote: 4 ayes 0 nays 1 absent not voting Spicer. Delegations Jim Sovel asked for clarification of policy 4B.5. Gary Cook, Personnel Director, was able to clarify the policy for Mr. Sovel. Old Business New Business 1. Embedded Credit Proposed Policy. Motion by Robert Cunningham, seconded by Sam Sentelle, to adopt proposed policy 6.34 Embedded Credit that was placed on review on July 18, Motion carried. 4 ayes 0 nays 1 absent not voting- Spicer. 2. School-to-work. Motion by Robert Cunningham, seconded by Bruce Knell, to approve the following businesses that will be covered through the WV Board of Risk and Insurance Management as sites for students, grades 9-12, participating in unpaid work-based learning experiences off school premises. Motion carried. Vote: 4 ayes, 0 nays 1 absent not voting-spicer.
