2 (RMHC) SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS: (4) UP TO $1, The following 4 scholarships are for currently enrolled high school seniors who are eligible to attend a two- or four-year college, university of vocational/technical school with a complete course of study. Applicants must be legal U.S. residents, be less than 21 years of age and reside within the geographic boundaries of participating Chapter that offers scholarships, (except for the HACER). **Beginning October 1, 2016, students may apply online at RMHC/African-American Future Achievers: Applicant must have at least one parent of African American or Black Caribbean heritage. RMHC/ASIA: Applicant must have at least one parent of Asian-Pacific heritage. RMHC/HACER: Applicant must have at least one parent of Hispanic/Latino heritage. RMHC/SCHOLARS: All students are eligible to apply regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin. To apply for an RMHC scholarship, a student must: Be a high school senior Be younger than 21 years old Be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college, university or technical school with a full course of study Be a legal U.S. resident Live in a participating RMHC Chapter s geographic area Submit a complete application and all required documentation by the deadline on the application Meet any additional eligibility requirements outlined by each scholarship program Provide verification of enrollment each year at respective accredited post-secondary institution QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATION PROCESS? Qualified candidates must be operating a small business. A minimum of 100 scholarships including non-renewable and renewable awards ranging in value of $1,000-$10,000 are available nationwide. Apply online from October 1, 2016 until December 18, Apply online at *************************************************************************************** ELKS FOUNDATION MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP SCHOLARSHIP: DEADLINE 500 FOUR-YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS RANGING FROM $1,000 TO $12,500 per year Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the enrollment of the winner in an accredited US college or university. Applications must advance through local, district and state competition to reach the national competition. 3 ELKS LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP Eligible students for the 2017 contest, (any high school senior, child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2014, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2014, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, Great-grandchildren are not eligible) The student must complete and submit the ONLINE application. The 2017 Legacy Awards application is due online by 11:59 a.m. Central Time on Friday, February 3, The Elk sponsor s membership will be verified through the BPOE Grand Lodge headquarters. 2. Upon receipt of the application, the applicant will receive a notification that the application was received. These scholarships require a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and either a combined SAT critical reading and math score of 920 or an ACT composite score of 19. Applicants for a Military Junior College Scholarship must have graduated from a regionally accredited high school or have completed the GED, must meet physical standards including height and weight standards, have security clearance, be a US citizen at least 17 years old, and be accepted into the VFMC Corps of Cadets. Students interested in applying for ECP ROTC Scholarships should contact the VFMC ROTC Department at (610) or via to Karen Fluck at KFLUCK@VFMAC.EDU,Recruiting Operations Officer for more information. Army ROTC Scholarships are awarded based on a student s merit and grades, rather than financial need, and pay full tuition and some fees at these levels: 4 Year full tuition 3 Year full tuition, effective sophomore year 2 Year full tuition, effective junior year Some colleges and universities offer scholarships and grants that can be used towards room and board costs if you receive an ROTC scholarship. Each college and university is different as are the amounts they may offer. Contact your school for more information.

6 Monthly Living Allowance Army ROTC scholarships also provide monthly subsistence allowance during the school year which begins when you sign your contract. 1st year: $250 per month 2nd year: $300 per month 3rd year: $450 per month 4th year: $500 per month This allowance is also available to non-scholarship Cadets enrolled in the Army ROTC Advanced Course (3rd and 4th year). Eligibility Minimum eligibility requirements for an Army ROTC scholarship are: Cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale Combined math and reading score of 920 on the SAT or 19 on the ACT Pass a Department of Defense medical exam Be at least 17 years of age Be a U.S. citizen of good moral character Accepting a scholarship requires a service obligation and signed contract.
