The Township's emphasis on recreation is evident in the numerous programs, activities and events offered by the Department of Recreation. These activities will continue to grow and expand to meet the ever changing needs and interests of our citizens. The Department's goal is to continue to expand our programs and enable more citizens to participate and enjoy the same. The Recreation office will no longer provide telephone call reminders for the start of any programs. CIVIC CENTER The Civic Center Meeting Room may be reserved by Civic Organizations for meetings when available. Located in the Municipal Complex, the room seats 1 60 persons. Call , ext to reserve. Nixle Nixle is a community information service provider built exclusively to provide secure and reliable communications. Residents of Manchester Township and those in neighboring communities can immediately begin receiving pertinent information via text message, , and web by registering at M. M. A. C. The Manchester Municipal Alliance Committee on alcohol and drug abuse prevention and youth services (M.A.C.) currently operates several substance abuse prevention activities. Volunteers are needed and new members are welcome to join. Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month, 7: 00 p.m. in the Town Hall Civic Center. LMSA - Soccer LMSA meetings are the 1 st Tuesday of every month in The Manchester Town Hall Civic Center at 7: 00 pm. PAL Manchester PAL is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing recreation and sport activities for young people. Cheer camp (Ages 6-17) When: Aug Youth Programs Instructor: Krystyna Hubbard Fee: $50.00 Participate in all aspects of a Broadway show "Mulan Jr.". Please come prepared to sing a Broadway show tune. 9:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m. Where: Spirit Factory All Star Training Facility Instructors: Spirit Factory Staff Fee: $89.00 This camp specializes in the basics to advanced skills of cheerleading. Your child will learn all aspects of cheer including: tumbling, jumps, stunting and dance in this week long cheerleading camp. At the end of the week your child will learn an entire routine. Please make sure your child wears sneakers, shorts and a t shirt or tank top. Hair must be in a high pony tail. Pack a lunch and plenty of water. 16 Memorial Day Parade Join us at The Grand Army Memorial in Pine Lake May 28, Parade starts at 1 0:00 a.m. Remembering all our veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our nation. Marchers will begin their journey to the Memorial, located at Oakdale Street, at 1 0 a.m. from the Commonwealth Fire House. Parade will organize at 9:1 5 am. Manchester is inviting children to adorn their bicycles with patriotic decorations and take part in the parade. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated bicycles. All children who participate are required to wear a proper bicycle helmet. The cost of this project is estimated to be approximately $1 00,000, and will be funded through voluntary donations from various businesses, veterans and fraternal clubs, non-profit organizations, citizens of Manchester and other communities, and all those who feel this is indeed a fitting tribute. Refunds will NOT be issued once a program starts. Refunds will NOT be issued for one day events, including theatre trips. Requests for refunds must be made in writing at least 5 business days (Monday through Friday) before a program begins. Written request must include all pertinent information (i.e. participant name; parent/guardian name; address; phone number; program; reason for requesting a refund). Full refunds are granted in the event a class is full or cancelled by the Recreation Department.
