2 February 12-13, 2018 Greetings Sisters of Tennessee Delta Sigma Theta Chapters, The year 2018 grants us another opportunity to activate our national call to Social Action. We value Social Action along with Political Awareness and Involvement. This platform allows us opportunities to present informational workshops on education, mental and physical health, voter registration and public policies, affecting our community. The Do s and Don ts of Social Action will be a focal point for collegiate and firsttime attendees. Additionally, we will engage in workshops to strengthen our chapter programs and projects. Tennessee Delta Days at the Capital will meet in Murfreesboro on February 12, The following day, February 13 th will be at the Legislative Plaza in Nashville. The site for the first day of workshops will be the First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro. Yolanda Williams and Felicia Best are serving as the Chair and Co- Chairs, respectively TN DDAC registration for alumnae members is $50.00 and $20.00 for collegiate sisters. Registration will be payable through the PayPal account of Clarksville Alumnae Chapter. The educational plans for our Tennessee DDAC require an overnight accommodation for those registering for DDAC. Adequate time is needed to better prepare our chapters to develop worthy projects and programs for our service areas and state. A series of discussions have been planned to assist in accomplishing this goal. Please plan to stay for the entire session, if possible. A list of hotels in the Murfreesboro area are included. We are making every effort to be cost conscious in our selection of hotels. The Residence Inn by Marriott is strongly recommended because of spacing and cost. Credit cards will not be charged until the day of arrival. The attire for Monday, February 12 th is professional business: red and black or red and white. Attendees will be able to socialize and bond after completing the business of Delta. All members visiting the capitol are asked to wear your red professional business attire on Tuesday, February 13 th. In reviewing previous years of DDAC attendance, we noted that many of our Tennessee Chapters have not sent anyone to DDAC at the state or national level. We are encouraging you to be more supportive and available to learn. All large chapters are asked to encourage 25 sisters to register for DDAC and the small to medium chapters bring a minimum of attendees. Our political landscape is in a state of urgency. Delta chapters can advance the growth of Social Action with your support. Looking forward to seeing for 2018 as an attendee at Delta Days in Murfreesboro and Nashville. Yours in Delta, Lillie Lillie St. Clair Tennessee State Social Action Coordinator Sandra Machelle Necole Elizabeth Sandra K. Horton Southern Regional Director Machelle Kyles Regional Social Action Coordinator Necole Jones TN State Coordinator Elizabeth Nichols TN State Facilitator 2
