1 #PARTOFTHEPRIDE APRIL EHS Administrative Report Monthly Newsletter from Mr. House & Mrs. Marsh (Formerly The Principal Press) Notes from the Principal On Monday, April 9th we are going to have a full day of opportunities for students to explore career options and volunteer their time for our El Dorado community. We will start the day with the Future s Fair. Each teacher has arranged for three speakers to be in their room during the morning sessions. Students are able to choose which speaker they want to hear during each of the four sessions. (See schedule on page 4 & 5) During the lunch hour, we will have 3 rotations. One will be lunch in the commons and courtyard area. While the students eat, there will be multiple local businesses set up to talk to the students about summer jobs and future career opportunities. The second rotation will be a guest speaker, Mary Martha Good, who will talk to the students about the benefits of community service and involvement. The third rotation will be reflection time in classrooms. The students will reflect and give feedback on each of the speakers they listened to in the morning sessions. The remainder of the day will be community service time. Each student has been assigned to a community service group based on their top three preferences. Teachers will be with all groups both in and out of the building to facilitate and assist with the work. We will have groups in the building doing anything from making homeless mats and dog toys to cooking meals. Students will also be out in the community doing things like cleaning up parks, reading to children, and packing lunches.
