3 First-Year Orientation Schedule Saturday, August 19 9:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. Check-In/Move-In Reid Hall, Minta Martin, and Kent Residence Halls Students and their families can pick up their keys and move into their residence halls. Move-in help will be provided by the Resident Assistants, Peer Mentors, Pre-Orientation leaders, fall athletes, members of the Student Events Board, Student Government Association, and Greek Life. Resident Assistants will be available on the halls to answer questions. Students not living on campus must still check in to receive their packet of information. Check In Locations: Reid Hall Residents of Reid, Queen Anne s, and Caroline should check in here. Minta Martin Residents of Minta Martin should check in here. All students are required to sign the Honor Code after hearing about important elements of the Washington College Honor Code and remarks from the Honor Board Chair and Faculty. 10:00 a.m. 11:30 a.m. Advisor Group Meetings Find your advisee group s meeting location on the outside of your orientation booklet. Meet with your academic advisor and other members of the advising group. Topics include FOCUS 2 (the interest inventory), internships and resume building. Chrisjones (one word) is one of the most-booked hypnotists on the college market. He offers a high-energy show that is interactive for both those being hypnotized and those in the audience, and is guaranteed to make you cry from laughing. Learn about the campus publications and art, writing, and music groups on campus, try your hand at letterpress printing and connect early with like-minded upperclassmen and arts faculty. 12
