1 MEMBERSHIP THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
2 1 THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. IT S A GIFT THAT CHANGES LIVES. We believe the size and scope of our mission are as great and grand as the Lone Star State we so proudly represent. Our responsibility is to the more than 500 male and female student-athletes who trust us with their growth and development and to the alumni, fans and friends who love the Texas Longhorns. To keep pace with expectations and goals, we keep our focus small, centered on the relationships developed through teamwork. We work together to support each other. While we are big, our aim is to ensure that Texas always has the familiar feel of family. Your place in our family is at the heart of our purpose. We exist to develop young competitors as whole people, who can achieve excellence in all pursuits in athletics, in academics and in life. Your generosity and goodwill provide student-athletes with the support and resources necessary to pursue their dreams. Thank you for joining us and being part of our team. At Texas, team means family. Hook em, Horns!
3 LONGHORN FOUNDATION: INVESTING IN THE FUTURE OF OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES 2 Founded in 1986 by DeLoss Dodds, the Longhorn Foundation is the official fundraising arm of Texas Athletics. Through the generosity of Longhorn Foundation members, Texas Athletics annually supports the educational and competitive pursuits of more than 500 studentathletes by providing them with master coaches, elite performance centers and focused academic nurturing. An investment in the Longhorn Foundation inspires this life-changing vision and ensures that student-athletes gain the tools necessary to grow and become foremost competitors and leaders. 13 THE DELOSS DODDS LEADERSHIP TEAM EXPERIENCE 12 The University changed my life. That s the main thing. And it changed a lot of other people s lives. It took someone from a small, rural town in Texas and broadened my horizons and made me think in a different way, and that s what is important to me as a person. All I ve tried to do is give something back because I feel obligated to this institution for what s it s done for me personally. - Mike Myers DeLoss Dodds Leadership Team Member YOUR IMPACT Total Program Costs Average $34,108 annually Full Cost of Attendance Average $81,845 annually There are so many resources here at Texas, which have helped me dramatically. When I came here as a freshman, I was a little overwhelmed. Everyone wants to help you in every aspect of life. I don t think there is another school that genuinely cares about its student-athletes the way Texas does. - Cat McCoy Volleyball, Class of 2018
14 13 ADDITIONAL WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT TEXAS STUDENT-ATHLETES Growing support and providing the necessary resources for our student-athletes to succeed remain our top priorities. The following giving areas provide an opportunity for those who desire to make a larger impact by giving above and beyond their seat and/or philanthropic annual fund donations. (Note: gifts to the following do not qualify for annual membership benefits, but do earn Loyalty Points.) Excellence Funds Excellence funds allow Texas Athletics the flexibility to determine and direct funds to the greatest areas of need. Distributions of excellence funds go directly towards the specified sport or program. Donors can also make donations to either sport-specific or student-athlete service areas such as Athletics Performance, Academic Services, and Performance Nutrition. Endowments With the financial expertise of the University of Texas behind us, we invest your gift. The principle remains untouched. Each year, we use the distribution like dividends on a mutual fund account to support student-athletes. Contributing to an endowment guarantees our program s financial stability and provides for the educational well-being of our studentathletes not just today but forever. Capital Projects Facility improvements provide resources for student-athletes, create one of a kind experiences for fans, generate exposure for the university and help recruit the finest talent from across the country and beyond. More important than walls and roofs, the activities that take place in our facilities foster the emotional and physical well-being of our student-athletes. Planned Giving Planned gifts can be made now or deferred to a later time. Gifts include bequests through a will, retirement plan assets, charitable trusts and estate giving.
