1 NEWS RELEASE COLONIAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Binghamton University Boston University Drexel University Rider University George Mason University Hofstra University Old Dominion University for CAA wrestling information, contact Bud Focht (609) phone, (609) fax, February 21, 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Czarnecki of BU, Binghamton s Kaylor CAA Wrestlers of Week Gwiazdowski of Binghamton, Rider s Morris CAA Rookies of Week LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ Kyle Czarnecki of Boston University and Matt Kayler of Binghamton University are the Colonial Athletic Association Wrestlers of the Week and Nick Gwiazdowski of Binghamton and Jimmy Morris of Rider University are the CAA Rookies of the Week, for all competition the final week of the dual meet season. Czarnecki, a junior from Buffalo Grove, Illinois (Buffalo Grove), upset the top ranked 174 in the CAA, the 10 th ranked wrestler in the nation from Rider. Ranked third in the CAA, Czarnecki was trailing in the third period before recording his fifth CAA victory in six matches, and his 19 th win of the season. Kayler, a senior from Ballston Spa, NY (Blunt Hills), defeated the second ranked 165 in the CAA from Old Dominion 8-1. Ranked fourth in the CAA, Kaylor improved to 5-1 in CAA duals and 22-8 overall. Morris, a freshman from Northport, N.Y. (St. Anthony's), upset the top ranked and undefeated 133 in the CAA from Boston U. who was ranked 12 th in the nation. Ranked third in the CAA, Morris improved to 4-1 in CAA dual meets. Gwiazdowski, a freshman heavyweight from Delanson, NY (Duanesburg), won a major decision in a CAA dual with Old Dominion to improve to 23-6 on the season, 5-0 in the CAA. Gwiazdowski is the top ranked 285 and is ranked 17 th in the nation. -caa-
