Registration is done by mail or dropping off forms; NO on-line, faxing or registration. 3. IF A CAMP IS FULL OR IS CANCELLED, IT WILL BE NOTED ON WEBSITE. 4. The teaching staff, for the most part, is a composite of certificated teachers. They have contributed to the continued success of the Activities and Sports Camps Program. Activities are being offered at many Cherry Creek Schools. Activities and Sports Camps are open to all residents in the Metropolitan area. Most courses will be offered from June, 2013 until August, We look forward to your participation. REGISTRATION. (Complete registration form and mail or drop-off.) NO: On-line registration, faxing or ing forms. REGISTRATION BEGINS IMMEDIATELY UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. GRADES AND AGES SPECIFIED ARE SCHOOL YEAR. You are encouraged to register as soon as possible, not waiting until the first day of class. Class size is limited for many camps, although not always stated. Students waiting to register on the first day of camp may not be accepted if class is full. To Register by Mail: 1. Scholarships for summer sports camps are not available. REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY If the Summer Sports Office cancels a class, you will receive a full refund. If you must withdraw for any reason, a request must be made within a week after the course begins. No refunds given if not notified in specified time period. You will be refunded your money, MINUS $25.00 per class. Refunds take approximately 4 weeks. TO CANCEL CALL AVAILABILITY If a camp becomes full it will be marked on the website. Coach. Kicking and dribbling, passing, tackling, trapping tactics, game conditions, chalk talks, headings and goal keeping. Participant receives a T-Shirt. Student must furnish own ball and shinguards CHERRY CREEK RUNNING CAMP (June 17-August 8) Open to: Boys & Girls, 12 years or older Instructors: Ethan Dusto and Holly Lane Phone: Dates: June 17 - August 8, M-Th. (No Fridays) Times: 7:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Cost: $ Location: Grass Hill just East of Stutler Bowl Group 1: Beginners (12 years or over) This camp caters to athletes who are just starting to become involved in running. Emphasis will be on building up endurance and the summer goal is to be able to run a 5K by the end of the camp. Great for those who are looking to stay in shape or get ready for their first season of cross country. Group 2: Advanced (13 years or over) This camp is for more advanced runners who are looking to improve their times. Emphasis will be placed on distance training and interval work to get experienced runners to the next level. Recommended for athletes who have raced and trained before. Both groups meet at the same time and for same duration. Movement between groups is acceptable and encouraged for improving runners. The SOAR Program at Cherry Creek High School is a program of high school adventure leaders trained to facilitate challenge course activities. Each player receives a t-shirt and basketball CHERRY CREEK ADVANCED POM INTENSIVE CAMP (June 11-14) Open to: Girls, Grades 6-8 with 3+ years of dance experience Cost: $ Instructors: Creek Pom Pons. This course is designed for the more intermediate/advanced dancer with 3+ years of dance, going into grade 6-8. It will be taught by former Cherry Creek High School Poms, Cherry Creek High School Pom Coaches, including one former and one current Denver Bronco Cheerleader, as well as our current Cherry Creek Varsity Pom Team! It is a great week filled with technique in both pom and jazz, as well as learning a fun routine to share with parents on the last day. This course is geared toward the intermediate/advanced dancer wo has mastered the following steps: double pirouette, toe touch, grande jettes, and basic pom technique. We will be working on mastering multiple turns, turns in second, advanced leaps and jumps, and much much more!! Please wear dance appropriate attire (shorts and a t-shirt are fine) as well as either jazz or tennis shoes. This workshop will be presented by the National Champion Speech and Debate Coaches with help of outstanding high school competitors and team captains. Session 3: Advanced workshop for anyone wanting to continue study from sessions 1 or 2 or last summer CHERRY CREEK CHEERLEADING CLINIC (June 10-12) Open to: Girls, K - 8. Enjoy 4 days with your current Cherry Creek High School Varsity Poms with the opportunity to perform for family and friends on the last day along with an award ceremony! We will be learning basic pom technique as well as a customized pom routine just for you! Photo opportunities will be available with the Vasity Poms as well as a fun craft to take home and remember your experience. 8 SUMMER THEATER CAMPS The Summer Theater Camps at Cherry Creek High School and Liberty Middle School are designed to give the participants an overall experience in theater. During the camp, students will audition, rehearse, and perform a theatrical performance. Every student will be involved with the production from beginning to end. The plays will be selected specifically for each class to best fit the needs of the students. All of the plays will be comedies with excellent performance opportunities for each student. 9 SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS AT FOX RIDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL 1031-BASKETBALL PRACTICE/SCRIMMAGE CAMP (June18-August 1) No camp week of July 4th Open to: Girls/Boys - Single players or teams, Grades 7-10 Instructors: Mike Hedquist, Casey Finch, David Duraes Phone: Cost: $70.00 Location: FRMS Gyms Max Registration: 1st 80 athletes to register Dates: June 18-August 1: Every Tuesday/Thursday Times: 6:30-8:30 p.m. (Two Games 6:30-7:30, 7:30-8:30) This camp is intended to provide organized basketball games from grade 7-12 a chance to develop skills by playing in two games per week. Athletes will be placed on mixed age and ability teams of 10 players. They will participate in two games per week (one game per night). This is intended to provide game-like opportunities for development. Games will be monitored but not officiated. Teams are welcomed to sign up with no more than 10 players. This camp is designed to teach full contact football fundamentals in a controlled setting, with 3 days of non-contact and contact football drills. Each day will consist of 1 hour of individual drills focusing on the fundamentals of blocking, tackling, ball handling and running, followed by 2 hours of team oriented practice and scrimmages. Individual players will be placed on a grade appropriate team, and scrimmages will occur by grade level. Teams will be coached by Staff and Varsity players from all three high schools. Coaches of Youth Teams are not allowed to participate in the camp; however, they may watch and provide camp staff with any necessary materials for their team.
