4 2012 FPGA Annual Convention & Tradeshow LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort, Naples, FL July 27-30, 2012 Dress Code All meetings are resort casual with both the Saturday Tradeshow and Dinner and the Sunday President s Banquet being inspired by a Margaritaville theme, which means beach attire is welcomed. Saturday s theme is Flip-Flops & Pop-Tops and Sunday s President Banquet continues the Margaritaville theme and adds a Parrothead Hat Contest. Pop-Tops Needed for the Ronald McDonald House Start saving your Pop-Tops from your soda cans and bring them with you to the convention and turn in at the registration desk as they will be used as part of our decoration for Saturday night and then will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. (Please make sure the Pop-Tops are clean and dry so they will be ready to use as decorations.) Parrothead Hat Contest Will YOU be one of the 3 winners of the Parrothead Hat Contest held during the President s Banquet? Be creative and have designing (or buying) a Parrothead Hat. For those of you who need a little more info.the term Parrothead was coined during a Jimmy Buffett concert where Jimmy commented about everyone wearing Hawaiian shirts and parrot hats who keep coming back to see his shows. Thus the term Parrothead" was formed. The common stereotype is of a person wearing a Hawaiian shirt, flip-flops and board shorts. The general theme of being a Parrothead is one of relaxation and being on a permanent mental vacation, even while working. A designated part of the beach will be sectioned off for our members with beach umbrellas for shade and lounge chairs for relaxation and for those with a little more pep in their step try your hand at kayaks, pedal boats, waverunners and a hobie catamaran that will all be available to our group and at your fingertips from 1:00 4:00 p.m. We hope you enjoy your day at the beach! Vendor Tradeshow Door Prizes Tradeshow Co-Sponsored by Rinnai, Cavagna, Coker Fuel, JCO Marketing, R.H. Peterson, Travis Industries and Worthington Cylinders There will be a 3-hour Vendor Tradeshow Saturday evening will include dinner and a silent auction. All vendors are required to bring an item to be auctioned off at their booth; the more unique and popular the item the more traffic you will receive at your booth. Non-propane items preferred unless it is very unique or a new product. To encourage more interaction with our vendors, attendees will be given a punch card with each vendor s booth number on it. If you visit all the booths and bring a completely punched-out card to FPGA staff, you will receive raffle tickets for a chance to win fabulous door prizes. Vendors can bring a Vendor Employee to assist in working the tradeshow for a minimal fee which only allows access to the 3-hour tradeshow and does not include the other registered meetings and activities. Pop-Tops to Flip-Flops Margaritaville Themed Dinner and Silent Auction; Auction proceeds to benefit the FPGA Scholarship Fund This year s Saturday night Margaritaville dinner will be remembered as an alltime favorite as pop-tops are being collected to donate the Ronald McDonald House. However, we must not forget our 2 nd Vendor Tradeshow along with our annual Silent Auction. We want this to be the best year yet, so get the word out to your associates and invite them to attend our convention and participate in our Vendor Tradeshow. All vendors are required to bring an item to be auctioned off at their vendor booth. Darrin Greck Annual Golf Scramble LaPlaya s Golf Course Tournament & Golf Prizes Sponsored by Targa Resources; $10,000 Hole-in-One Sponsored by Tempaco The convention planning committee is excited about this year s golf tournament at the LaPlaya Golf Resort. Course details will be finalized as we draw closer to our convention dates. You are on your own for transportation to and from the golf course.

6 Fishing Tournament Backwater Fishing Six Chuter Charters, Marco River Marina Beverages & Prizes Sponsored by Florida Young Gassers Enjoy the cool waters of the Gulf of Mexico on a 4-hour, off-shore, backwater fishing excursion to fish for grouper, snapper, cobia, snook, barracuda and shark. These offshore boats supply license, bait, tackle and coolers with ice and are equipped with heads and are limited to 6 passengers. The Florida Young Gassers will provide complementary water and sodas for each boat. Please bring your own munchies (no glass containers please). You are on your own for transportation to and from the marina. Manatee Sightseeing Adventure The Manatee Sightseeing Adventure will depart from the Port of the Island Marina. Individual boats will hold up to six (6) people per boat. Tour will provide polarized sunglasses to be able to see the manatees underwater. You can bring your own snacks and drinks (alcohol included) are permissible. However, food must not crumble and make a mess when eaten. Young Gasser Reception Fundraiser Cash Bar with Door Prizes Sponsored and hosted by the Florida Young Gassers; Door Prizes Sponsored by Suburban Propane This annual event is a wonderful time to mix and mingle prior to the President s Banquet. The best part is that you don t have to be a Young Gasser to attend as all are welcome! This reception is one of the many Young Gasser Fundraisers we host each year with the proceeds benefiting many of the FPGA events and programs such as the Propane PAC and Scholarship Committee. There is a $10 entry fee per person with great DOOR PRIZES that will be given away throughout the 1-hour reception. There will be a CASH BAR available. President s Margaritaville Banquet with Crazy Parrothead Hat Contest and Entertainment by Street Talk Orchestra and Key West Entertainers Banquet Sponsored by FPGA & Sea-3 of Florida; Street Talk Sponsored by Amerigas The President s Banquet is a special event to honor our President Jim Daus and to usher in the new president that will lead our association for another year. This year s banquet will be a relaxed evening so feel free to dress in your beach attire and make sure you check out the Key West Entertainers that will include The Critterman, a magician, juggler and a surprise Key West character that will mix and mingle with our members. Stick around for Street Talk Orchestra s Band with a dance floor for entertainment that will follow dinner and the banquet program. Don t forget the Parrothead Hat Contest that will be held during the President s Banquet. We want this to be a wild and crazy time so get creative and bring your best Parrothead hat to be judged; winners will receive prizes.

Annual Membership Meeting An Apple ipad will be given away at this meeting; Break Sponsored Tempaco; Door Prizes Sponsored by Ferrellgas The annual membership business session includes the election of officers, committee updates, a special report from FPERC, PEFF and NPGA representative as well as FPGA s Executive Director s report.
