What is human trafficking? Human trafficking is where children and teens are taken, bought and sold as products. It is the number one criminal industry in the world, surpassing the drug industry for the sheer amount of profit selling a person can make. The Red Thread is an organization that rescues trafficked girls or women in Middle Eastern countries and brings them to safe-houses. They then give them the tools to return to daily life. The women work to make the bracelets in the safe-house to provide for themselves until they get back on their feet. By buying the bracelets you are helping support the red thread mission and end human trafficking. We will be selling them Monday through Friday in the main hallway by the stairs during lunch. They will cost only 5 dollars apiece, or 4 dollars if you and a friend purchase them at the same time. WEAR FREEDOM ~ COMBAT SLAVERY!

The Oconomowoc Arts Center is excited to present Barrage 8 on the Main Stage Saturday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. The high-energy ensemble is the latest project from John Crozman, Dean Marshall and Tony Moore, the original founders of Barrage, the popular violin-based group out of Calgary, Canada. Their new creation has morphed into the latest craze of innovative stage performance, offering up a diverse fusion of cultures, musical styles and incredible performance vitality. The 8 in the name represents a re-imagery of the string octet five violins, viola, cello and double bass. This instrumentation drives a rich and powerful sonic palette that further explores the musical diversity in the Barrage 8 compositions and arrangements. Together, the young, hip string players bring a high-octane fiddle-fest that features an international, multi-talented cast performing an eclectic mix of music vitality, song and dance.

WELLNESS TIP OF THE WEEK #16 Did you know that March is National Nutrition Month? This is an annual campaign championed by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The theme for 2017 is Put Your Best Fork Forward, meaning that we need to remember that each bite counts. Making small changes in our food choices and eating habits can make a big difference over time. Stay tuned for more nutrition tips throughout the month and check out the following sources for great information about nutrition for the whole family.
OHS Youth Arts Festival: March 31 st and April 1 st OAC

o o o o o o o o This year it s a two night event. Each night is identical in terms of films shown. Saturday night will have an awards ceremony following the showing. Friday, March 31st 7:00PM- doors open at 6:30 PM Saturday, April 1st 7:00PM with awards- doors open at 6:30 Audience participation is key this year due to voting which will take place both nights. This will lead to culminating results to establish the winners in each category and overall best film. Saturday night is a tremendous night because the votes will be in and awards will be presented after the viewing. Film directors are specifically invited to come Saturday to celebrate their hard work and dedication to the arts. However, the cool thing about this year is that anyone can view the films twice! We have a new website where students can access information and submit films: Every ticket purchased allows students access to the film festival, youth arts festival, and an opportunity to vote. Last year, the fest was limited to three hours on a Friday night, and this year it has grown into a weekend event with multiple venues, exhibitions, and exciting opportunities for all arts. More schools are submitting films, and we re encouraging all community members to come and view what youth in Southeastern Wisconsin are creating!
