2 Bookstore The Ferrum College Bookstore is stocked with items to meet your academic needs (notebooks, pens, flash drives, textbooks, etc.), as well as those required for day-to-day survival on a college campus (t-shirts, hoodies, greeting cards, gifts, stuffed animals, toiletries, etc.). You may also purchase cables, DVD s, and much more. Stop in to see all the new arrivals and must haves! We estimate that books and supplies will cost approximately $1000 per year. The Bookstore provides many used textbooks to reduce overall expenses. Note: No books, whether new or used, can be returned to the Bookstore without the original receipt. The bookstore is introducing a textbook rental program for students. The textbook is rented for the semester for a set fee and should be returned after exams and before heading home for the break. A credit card is kept on file until the book is returned. Upon return of the rental, the credit card information is deleted but if the book is not returned the credit card on file will be charged for the balance owed on the book. The Bookstore also houses The News Café, proudly serving Starbucks coffee, our signature beverages such as Raspberry Love and Cherry Dream, delicious fresh pastries like Mudslide Brownies and Blueberry Muffins. Located at the back of the bookstore, the news café is a great place to gather, socialize, and catch up on news from available newspapers or cable TV news broadcasts. Purchases may be made with cash, dining dollars or debit/credit cards. Students may cash personal checks at the Bookstore. In order to process the check, the Bookstore requires students to present their Ferrum I.D. card at the time of the transaction. The Bookstore will cash a check up to $50. Also, in many cases, local merchants are willing to accept out-of-town checks for students with their Ferrum ID and other identification may be required. Communications The College switchboard, (540) , and most administrative offices are open M-F from 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. College Police are available 24 hours a day by calling (540) Please feel free to call upon us whenever we may be of service to you!
