6 2011 CLASS REUNION ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR B. N. Cephus 50 B. N. Cephus is the fourth child of five children born to John and Adell Colston Cephus. Raised in Tuscaloosa, AL and educated in the Tuscaloosa Schools System, Cephus as most called him, recieved his primary education from 20th Street Elementary and his high school diploma from Industrial High. After graduating from high school, Cephus entered his beloved Alabama A&M College and in 1950 he recived a Bachelor s Degree in Math and Science. Cephus and his late wife of 52 years, Mattie Pegues Cephus, met at Alabama A&M. He has two daugthers: Cheryl(Cedric)Vickers and Felicia Turnley as well a two granddaughters, Alexandria and Ariel Turnley. Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, master s, educational specialist, and doctoral degrees.
