1 The Mount Union Area Board of Education transacted the following business at a regular public meeting held on : 1. Granted approval to submit application for Impact Aid funds for the school year. 2. Approved continuing the 3-year Agreement with Odysseyware for online curriculum. 3. Approved the listing of electronic items declared of no value to the District that were picked up for recycling at no cost to the District. 4. Accepted the Proposal for PSBA BoardDocs Pro from Emerald Data Solutions, Inc. 5. Granted First Reading to Board Policy for: Section Programs #103.1 Nondiscrimination Qualified Students With Disabilities and Attachments #113.1 Discipline of Students with Disabilities #113.2 Behavior Support #115 Career and Technical Education Section 800 Operations Section 000 Local Board Procedures #806 Child Abuse #007 Policy Manual Access #808 Food Services #810.2 Transportation Video/Audio Recording #824 Maintaining Professional Adult/Student Boundaries #827 Conflict of Interest 6. Added Subway in Huntingdon as an additional work site for high school students participating in work experience for the school year. 7. Approved the revised Bus Contractors Pay rates for the school year. 8. Approved adding three individuals to the listing of approved drivers for District owned vehicles effective for the school year pending receipt of necessary paperwork. 9. Approved two requests from Statewide Tax Recovery, Inc. for exoneration from delinquent per capita taxes. 10. Approved to pay Mr. Kirk Stevens one half ($2,000.00) of the Head Football Coaching Salary for the time served as Head Football Coach for the season.
2 Page Approved the stipend of $2, for Dance Team Advisor and approved naming Ms. Emily Brown as Dance Team Advisor effective for the school year. 12. Approved the request from Mrs. Maurine Hockenberry to complete her approved Principal Practicum proposal through Saint Francis University starting in January 2017 with Mrs. Dawn Holesa serving as her mentor and with some projects being extended to the secondary level working with either Mr. Curt Whitesel or Ms. Amy Smith due to the principal certification covering K Named Ms. Stana Stewart and Ms. Toyia Price as paid Assistant Girls Basketball Coaches for the season. 14. Named Mr. Kyle Wise as a paid Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the season pending receipt of necessary paperwork. 15. Named Ms. Kassandra Atherton and Mr. Tracy Cornelius as paid Assistant Girls Softball Coaches for the season pending receipt of necessary paperwork. 16. Accepted with regret the retirement notification of Mr. Michael Little as an elementary Special Education teacher effective January 2, Accepted with regret the resignation notification from Mr. Robert William Sieber as an LPN/Building Aide effective December 10, Approved the resignation of Ms. Bambi Guentner, school psychologist, effective on November 23, Approved one request for FMLA leave of absence from support staff member and two requests for sick day donation from faculty members for the school year.

Named Mrs. Miranda Powell, 7365 Longhorn Road, Huntingdon, PA as a full-time elementary teacher retro-active to the start of the second marking period (October 27, 2016). 23. Named the following mentors for Induction Program for the school year: Teacher Mentor Laiken (Rosensteel) Stuller Heidi Getz non-experienced $200. Miranda Powell Keli Danish non-experienced $ Approved the following Special Education Para-Educator Recommendations: a) Named/transferred Mrs. Jessica (Peachey) Walker from a 5 ½ hours part-time special education para-educator position to the 6 hours part-time special education para-educator position effective November 15, b) Named/transferred Ms. Jamie Bowser from a 5 ½ hours part-time special education para-educator position to the full-time 7 hours/day LPN/Special education Personal Care Aide position effective November 14, c) Posted the vacated 5 ½ hours part-time special education para-educator positions for internal applications and posted one 6 ½ hours part-time special education position for external applications. 25. Named Mr. Joseph R. Skura, 101 Forest Street, Gallitzin, PA to the Part-time Secondary English remedial KtO teaching position for 6/8s of a day effective November 30, 2016 with the understanding the days worked and salary will be prorated for the remainder of the school year. 26. Approved requests from Ms. Jessica Deline on behalf of the Huntingdon County Child and Adult Development Corp. for use of the Mapleton-Union Elementary on: a) December 1, 2016 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to hold a parent meeting; b) December 8 or December 15, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to hold their snacks with Santa activity; c) December 22, 2016 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to hold a Winter Fun Day; d) January 5, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to hold a Head Start Parent Meeting; e) February 2, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to hold a Parent Meeting; f) February 9, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to hold a Family Event activity; g) February 10, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to hold a Friendship/Valentine s Day activity; h) April 12, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to hold a Spring Family Event; i) May 18, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to hold end-of-year graduation and picnic.

Approved the request from Mr. Adam Shawver on behalf of the Grace Community Church to start the Good News Release Time Program for the school year for the Mount Union-Kistler Elementary and the Shirley Township Elementary to start during the month of January Approved the request from Mr. Darwin Kysor on behalf of the Rod Tate Chapter of Wrestling Officials for use of a high school classroom on December 19, 2016; January 23, 2017 and February 20, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to hold wrestling officials meetings. 30. Approved the request from Mr. James Chaney on behalf of the Mount Union Band Boosters to hold a fund-raiser of selling items from Pie Shoppe, Little Caesars and Wreaths during November to December 20, Approved the request from Mr. Charlie Hicks on behalf of Boys Junior High Basketball for use of the Mount Union-Kistler Elementary gymnasium from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting Friday, November 18, 2016, through February 28, 2017 to hold practices. 32. Approved the following requests for Field Trips and Conferences from: a) Mrs. Louise Ketner and Mrs. Brooke (Rhone) Park to accompany Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleading squads to the playoff football game held in Johnstown on November 5, 2016 with costs to the District being for bus transportation. b) Mrs. Dawn Shields to attend the Odysseyware User Conference held at Lincoln Intermediate Unit #12 on November 17, 2016.
5 Page 5 c) District s 5 th grade teachers to accompany members of the 5 th grade classes to Gettysburg Battlefield/Visitors Center on May 22, d) District s 4 th grade teachers to accompany members of the 4 th grade classes to Whitaker Science Center in Harrisburg on March 31, e) Mrs. Anita Young to accompany 6 th grade elementary gifted students to the High School on December 1, 2, 8 and 15, 2016 to use the 3D Printer. f) Mrs. Gretchen Crouse to accompany 11 members of the 5 th Grade Chorus to the PMEA 5 th Grade Chorus Festival to be held at the Curwensville High School on April 28, g) Mrs. Tammy Fisher and Mrs. Lonya Semple to accompany members of the Captain Jack FFA to the PA Farm Show on January 9, 2017 to be held in Harrisburg. h) Mrs. Tammy Fisher to accompany five members of the Captain Jack FFA to the Spring Leadership Conference to be held March 12 14, 2017 in Harrisburg. i) Mrs. Tammy Fisher, Mrs. Lonya Semple and Mrs. Christine Clevenger to accompany 15 members of the Captain Jack FFA to the A.C.E.S.
