1 FROM THE FALCON S PERCH - Justin Patterson, Principal Wilcox-Hildreth Public School News & Views JULY, 2016 I hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as my family and I are. This is a great time of year to spend extra time with family, friends and to get outside and enjoy the weather. With the Fourth of July behind us we are a few short weeks to the start of the school year. If you haven t taken that family trip or done all the fun things that you had planned, there is still time before the end of summer break. As I get ready for another school year I always like to look back and reflect on how the previous year went. I critique my actions and decisions from the previous school year. If I think of something that didn t play out as well as it should have, I try to make a plan on how to make a better decision the next time I am faced with a similar situation. I also like to think of things that went well and try to repeat the steps that made the situation turn out positive. Each of us have the ability to reflect on previous situations. What is it that you are going to do this next school year to make sure that you are successful in your endeavours? Reflect and make a plan. If the plan isn t working out, adjust or make a new plan. Yesterday is in the past, and tomorrow can be a new start. 1
