9 Air Force Special Operations Air Warfare Center Instruction 36-1: Curriculum Development and Management: Identity based education tie-ins were recently added to all templates. Tie-ins will be documented in lesson plans as curriculum is revised. Education: Identity Based Education Tie-in: How does lesson incorporate AFSOAWC values that contribute to the Air Commando ethos? Training: Core Values/Identity Based Education Tie-in
10 Identity Based Education Tie-in: Topic of the entire lesson. Identity Based Education Tie-in: Classroom management includes techniques for dealing with disruptive students. Instructor roles and responsibilities are discussed as far as remaining calm and collected. Treating students with dignity and respect is stressed. Everything an Air Commando instructor does in the classroom should be to meet a valid educational goal. To haze Or not to haze?
11 Core Values/Identity Based Education Tie In: This lesson builds weapons expertise Air Commandos may need to employ down range. This training requires them to demonstrate safety, maturity and precision. Core Values/Identity Based Education: This lesson requires students to demonstrate maturity and make decisions in a stressful environment while practicing lifesaving skills in realistic scenarios. Air Commandos must trust their teammates are capable of applying lifesaving measures on the battlefield. Core Values/Identity Based Education: Using minimal force necessary to achieve objective or desired end state is stressed during this lesson. This supports commitment, maturity and expertise. Creativity may also come into play during scenario based practical exercises.
