Theme Contrivance of Academic Libraries in Digital Era Academic libraries are the essential companion of Educational journey and have a mission to act as dynamic instrument of quality teaching, learning and research. Academic libraries today are facing the challenges of ever growing, continuum, infinite, dynamic and multidimensional growth of knowledge, price rise of publications, shrinking budgets, increasing cost of maintenance of collection, shortage of space and trained manpower on one hand and the challenges to fulfill the varied demands of end users in networked environment on the other hand. Thus, there is an urgent need for the contrivance of Academic libraries in digital era, so as to make it, a SMART borderless library providing value added information services and round the clock access to global information resources with a single click. About Vikram University Vikram University Ujjain, named after the ruler Vikramaditya, was established on 1st March 1957 at Ujjain, MP India, with its motto knowledge is the foundation for immortality. It is one of the most renowned seats of learning with a rich academic and cultural heritage. The objective of the University is to emerge as a unique place of learning by way of combining and co-ordinating traditional and contemporary knowledge and to patronize and promote traditional Indian Culture, heritage, Arts, Science and Literature. The University offers a variety of courses in 12 Faculties and has Scindia Oriental Research Institute which has been selected as a Manuscript resource centre for the state of Madhya Pradesh.

3 About the Department School of Studies in Library and Information Science has a glorious history of being the First Dept. of Vikram University, Ujjain and also the first Department in Madhya Pradesh for starting Diploma Courses in Library Science in (1957). It is again very prestigious to say that Dr. S.R. Ranganathan The Father of Library Science served here for two years as visiting faculty. At present the School of Studies in Library & Information Science is offering BLIS, MLIS, M.Phil. and Ph.D. Programs under faculty of Information Technology. About Ujjain City Ujjain is regarded as the most renowned seat of learning as Lord Krishna, with Balram and Sudama completed their education in Ujjain at Guru Sandipani s Ashram. It is also called the Greenwich of Hindu Astronomers and Astrology as Tropic of Cancer known as Kark Rekha passes through Ujjain. It is one of the greatest cities of ancient India and one of the sacred cities of Hindus in India. It is also one of the four towns where the KumbhaMela is held and is also known as KumbhNagri. The city attracts a great deal of pilgrims, as it is the home of The Mahakaleshwar. Ujjain is well connected through Roads and Railways. The nearest Airport is at Indore. About ISST Intellectuals Society for Socio-Techno Welfare (ISST) was established in 2009 with a mission to build a globally accepted intellectual potential among the youths, academicians and researchers. ISST s vision is to become one of the leading organizations, whose training programs and publications are globally accepted. To give pace to its working, ISST undertakes aids, co-coordinates, and augments research in various enumerated subjects of Sciences, Engineering, Management & Social Sciences. It organizes Lectures, Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Training Programs and Audio-visual programs for the students, academicians and working professionals. Call for Papers and Posters Original and unpublished papers related to the theme and subthemes are invited for presentation. A review panel will review the papers and selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings (with ISBN No.). The registration is mandatory for paper presentation.
