A SMP meeting was held on 08 August 2018 at MCAS Camp Pendleton s Hall of Heroes. List of those in attendance is provided on the sign in sheet (attachment 1). 2. SgtMaj MCAS CamPen Please be sure to sign-in on the attendance roster for inspection purposes Still currently missing appointment letters from: HMLA 369. Please turn these into Danielle West. Sergeant Major Campbell set a challenge for all Senior Enlisted Advisors: There are many Single Marine Program events coming up within the next two months; at a minimum get 5 Marines from your unit to show up and participate. Events are not being attended or supported and if this continues SMP will not be an available resource. 3. Mr.David Stocks- 23/24 Area Assist Logistics Officer- Not In Attendance Mr.Stocks working on lights at Basketball Courts across from the 22 Area SMP and below the chow hall has which currently has no lights down below. Lights have been out since November when they returned from deployment. Follow-up: Schlotsky s up North has closed and is currently bring contracted out for bids, no replacement vendor to be identified yet. 4. Mr.Michael Woodbury- MCX Manager- Not In Attendance 5. Commanding General s Cup points awarded for this competition. 5-7 people per team. The tournament is limited to 40 teams and one team per Battalion/ Squadron. First come, first served. 4 Competitors on a team. Team rosters are frozen once your first match has started. No switching player(s) from one eliminated team to another team still in the tournament. Teams may be co-ed. ATTIRE: Uniform of the Day or Proper Civilian Attire, Commanding General s Cup Bonus Points are awarded for this tournament. There is NO entry fee. Sept 12 Combat Water Basketball Area Pool. Combat water basketball is a 5 v 5 tournament which will be played in the shallow end of pool (5ft depth).

2 Cammies (blouse & pants) and boots are mandatory. Players do not need to know how to swim but should be comfortable in water (7 people max per team). CG s Cup points are awarded for these events. If ANY marines/sailors are not receiving their LOAs after a service project please contact Erika Rogness at erika.rogness@usmc-mccs.org or call/text (760) Sequoia trip is currently on stand-by pending the containment of fires up North. For the next meeting Marine Corps Headquarters are coming to Pendleton September to host the Leadership Symposium. This is Marine Corps wide and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps will be on deck. In preparation, they will complete a small focus group of non-smp individuals E1-E5 on September 5 th. These are people that have not participated in the program and do not want to so we can answer questions such as: Why don t they participate, what does HQMC need to change about the program, is a transportation problem, is it a funding issue, etc. Every single SMP representative needs to bring 2 NON-SMP individuals that are E1-E5 to this September meeting. These focus group participants will be feed lunch. Camp Pendleton is the only installation that is doing this right now. Currently, looking for an Outstanding SMP rep or volunteer to invite to this Leadership Symposium (cannot be an SMP President or Vice President) This individual will represent your unit and this installation. Suggestions should be sent to Danielle West WESTDN@usmc-mccs.org All Junior Marines completed a 2 question survey before leaving meeting for HQMC, concerning text message surveying. 12. Volunteer Opportunities PE Fitness Friday, 07 September Volunteers will host an all-day fitness challenge at a local elementary school. All volunteers must meet at Semper Fit HQ, Bldg at Please eat breakfast before you arrive. Dress attire is the Marine Corps Running Suit with green PT shorts & plain skivvy shirt underneath. Lunch will be provided. 40 volunteers needed. Next Camp Beautification Thursday, 16 August , each squadron to provide 2-3 volunteers. (Third Thursday each month) September, Date TBD - San Diego Botanical Gardens - Marines will assist with special community service project that will expand the garden. More information will be distributed next month (September). LOAs will be issued to those that complete this volunteer opportunity. 13. Conclusion Meeting ended at Next Meeting will be held 05 September 2018 at 1200 at the Hall of Heroes Bldg future meeting will allow for all participants to eat lunch prior to attending. 14. Participants who volunteer must register in advance with SMP HQ in order to receive a letter of appreciation. Volunteers must provide their own transportation except for PE fitness Challenge. A signed command permission slip is required for all SMP activities. All activities depart from Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg Unless otherwise stated and require that participants utilize the provided transportation.
