Hauser is currently completing the Investigations Training Program EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS: Detectives completed all monthly online training and participated in an Active Shooter Training at Polk County Sheriff s Office Training Facility. This arrest was part of a HIDTA Taskforce Investigating led by Det. Britt Davis. OTHER/COMMUNITY SERVICE: Detectives are currently working 83 active felony investigations. VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR JUNE 2016 Citizens on Patrol Reserve Officer Unit TOTAL MONTHLY HOURS COMMUNITY SERVICES TEAM SGT. BRYAN DORMAN EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS: Officers participated in the Active Shooter Training at PCSO Training Facility. None PATROL / TRAFFIC ACTIVITY: CST began issuing warnings to motorists violating the new Parking Ordinance which took effect this month. The new ordinance includes an increase in the parking violations from $5 to $20, and an increase in the $100 fine for parking in handicapped spaces to $250. In addition, parking on vacant unimproved property, private or public, not designated for parking, is a violation and a fine of $20. will be issued. Officers on CST have been conducting a citywide traffic, signage, and speed assessment this month. OTHER / COMMUNITY SERVICE: CST provided security during City Commission Meetings. Monday, July 4, 2016 CST assisted during the citywide July 4th Celebration held at Mosaic Park. Sgt. Dorman and Ofc. Broom at Burkett Chapel Health Fair Tuesday, July 5, 2016, CST attended the Monthly Chief s Chat with Police Chief Hall, held at Mosaics Café at 7:30 AM. CST Participated in a Health Fair at Burkett Chapel Primitive Baptist Church on Sat. July 23 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Sat. July 30, CST participated in a Youth Program at Mt. Gilboa Missionary Baptist Church. New C.O.P. Volunteer, Nita Leslie, pictured above, is one of three (3) new volunteers to complete the Volunteer Training Program. Other Volunteers are Cathy Horne, Dan McDaniel, and Kathleen Connors. They will soon be on the streets of Bartow patrolling in the Citizens on Patrol Unit. 3 Page 3 CITIZENS SHOW SUPPORT Through out the county, over the last several months, tragic events involving law enforcement officers have transpired, causing circumstances which put law enforcement officers in deadly situations. The outcomes are often disastrous, which can foster public distrust of police, and general disrespect of the profession. It is easy for officers to become discouraged and disheartened while performing their daily duties. However, we are happy to report that the citizens and business in Bartow have rallied in support of our agency, and we are very appreciative of the outpouring show of support we have received from so many. Here are just a few of the acts of kindness that have been bestowed upon us this month this month. On July 17th, this beautiful Edible Arrangement was delivered, a gift from the Collins Family and Out Now Bail Bonds On July 24th, Sean and Lori Serdynski of SLS Entertainment delivered pizzas and assorted drinks for officers and dispatchers on evening shift. The Flower Cart sent this beautiful bouquet of roses! Retired LPD Police Ofc. Rosaland Lewis (center) delivered cans of coke, through a program she call s Cokes for Cops. Joe Tedder, and the Tax Collector employees made police Survival Kits and gave to all police personnel The Police Survival Kits (right) were bags, made by the Tax Collector employees, and filled with various types of candy.
