12 Overview Established in 1953 Recruiting primarily word of mouth Come from all walks of life, plumbers to PHDs All are sworn state certified peace officers Required to work a minimum of 16 hours per month 22 have received the President s Lifetime Service Award for over 4,000 career volunteer hours (the only ones in Texas) 3

20 So how can you help? Dallas Police Reserve Battalion Our goal is to increase the size of the Reserve Battalion to 150 officers in the next 3 years. To accomplish this goal, we need a $150,000 investment the first year. 11
21 So how can you help? Dallas Police Reserve Battalion We started the Dallas Police Reserve Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 organization to assist in meeting some of our needs. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductable and can help supplement actual city budget funds. 12
