A meeting was held on 10 January 2018 at MCAS Camp Pendleton Hall of Heroes. List of those in attendance is provided on the sign in sheet (attachment 1). 2. SgtMaj Robinson SgtMaj MCAS CamPen Meetings are at the Hall of Heroes moving forward This meeting is the first meeting with Barracks managers here in attendance, so we may discuss any issues brought up. This will continue moving forward. There was a bed bug case in 24 area, pay better attention during inspections. If one barracks room gets these, it spreads. That room gets quarantine and no one can be moved in. For this area, the trips require special liberty chits to encourage more Marines to attend. Next Day of Service always the third Thursday of the month. This month: 18 th of January Each squadron to provide 2-3 Marines. Names to attend should be sent via the S-4 air station Logistics Department. Million Dollar Marine Program Program designed to provide service members, government employees, and family members opportunities to learn more about proper budgeting and more. This program is Open Forum in the auditorium of the Hall of Heroes (HoH). Attendees are given the opportunity to ask financial related questions and receive answers from experienced financial specialists. There will also be breakout rooms for specific financial briefs, such as investing and homeownership. 3. Danielle West- Coordinator- Quality of Life Old Issues- A. None to report Quality of Life New Issues: A. Status of Appointment letters- unit rep names will not be updated until a copy of the appointment letter is received. Community Involvement-Briefed as in attachment 3 Recreation- Briefed as in attachment 3 Be aware Marines, you are authorized to attend any recreation center events, not just your specific area. 4. Michael Johnson- Commissary Manager- Fresh 12 inch subs at lunch are now offered Breakfast is now available starting at 0830

Volunteer Opportunities Fitness Frenzy Come help kick-off the month long Fitness Frenzy for the residents of Fairwinds Retirement Home. Thursday February 1st 1:45pm 3pm Fairwinds Retirement 4490 Mesa Dr Oceanside, CA Super Bowl Saturday Help with set-up, security and more at Grid Iron Grind Super Bowl Saturday Wrestling Tournament. North County Stand Down Four day event to get homeless veterans of North County much needed services, such as: housing assistance, medical and dental exams, legal assistance, clothing, showers, mental health, etc. To volunteer please go to Conclusion Meeting ended at Next Meeting will be held 07 February at 1200 at the Hall of Heroes Bldg future meeting will allow for all participants to eat lunch prior to attending. 13. 18 Transition Program Updates Jan 17, 24, 31 TABE Test of Adult Basic Education 1pm 3pm All Testing Will Take Place at Mainside Base Education Center, Bldg 1331 Jan 19 Education and Interest Assessment Workshop - This workshop will assist you to identify your career interest, abilities, and values in order to create an action plan for your educational or career pathway Jan 25 - Technology Industry Forum & Hiring Event 8:30am 4pm at Pacific Views Event Center. The Forum is to focus on and provide industry information regarding employment outlook, career paths and opportunities, training and certification required, and bridging military skills to technology careers creating a clear pathway for the service member to obtain employment. There will be 2 employer panels to address these topics. Microsoft is sponsoring lunch, followed by a Microsoft Skills Workshop. The Hiring Event consists of employers with career opportunities in technology/technical occupations. They are highly encouraged to conduct pre-screening interviews with qualified job seekers. CalHR will provide a workshop on how to streamline the hiring and interviewing process with the State of California.

29 Newsletter January 2018 Advanced registration is required for all trips, events & volunteer opportunities. Program events are open only to single Marine and Sailors stationed on Camp Pendleton. Participants who volunteer must register in advance with HQ in order to receive a letter of appreciation. Volunteers must provide their own transportation except for PE fitness Challenge. A signed command permission slip is required for all activities. All activities depart from Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg Unless otherwise stated and require that participants utilize the provided transportation. Uniform of the day is civilian attire. Closed toed shoes are required. A maximum of 10 participants are needed for this opportunity. Participants must sign up prior to the event. Bring water! 01/ PE Fitness Challenge Volunteers will host an all-day fitness challenge at an on-base school. All volunteers must meet at Semper Fit Headquarters at Please eat breakfast before you arrive. Dress attire is the Marine Corps Running Suit with green PT shorts and plain skivvy shirt underneath.
