2 This workbook is to be used in conjunction with CAWG Basic Cadet Schools. It reiterates the subjects taught in various classes at each of these activities. Flight Commanders can also use it as a time to talk with and bond with their cadets. 5 Introduction to the Cadet Protection Policy References: CAPR 52-10, CAPR 52-16, CAPP 52-23, Learn to Lead Vol What is the purpose of the Cadet Protection Policy? To cadets who are minors in our care. It also protects senior members and cadets over years old, and it protects CAP as a corporation. Hazing Definition: any conduct whereby someone caused another to suffer or to be exposed to any activity which is cruel, abusive, humiliating, oppressive, demeaning, or harmful (CAPR 52-10, pg. 2) The intense nature of some CAP activities is not hazing, as long as it does not violate the definition given above. (See CAPR for definitions and discussions on appropriate training intensities.) 2.
