Lt Betty Holderbaum and I will be making phone calls to encourage everyone to attend our Squadron Rendezvous at the Pleasant Beach Hotel in Fairhaven, NY the weekend of July. Many of us will be arriving by car for the day on Saturday. Those who come by boat typically arrive Friday and leave Sunday. Saturday consists of a lot of relaxation sitting by the water under a big shade tree and visiting; some play bocci ball. In the afternoon we have a brief Executive Committee meeting, then the Commander s cocktail party, and then dinner in the hotel. Typically, people bring their own lawn chairs, snacks and sometimes beverages. This is a great social event where everyone enjoys the company of other members. We will be extending a special invitation to all our newer members and their families. We look forward to seeing you there. 3

4 IN MEMORIAM Bill McMahon, husband of P/C Elaine McMahon, AP, passed away on May 23, Bill was born in Glasgow, Scotland and served in the British Navy- World War II. He worked at Kodak for many years and was also a greeter at BJ's. Bill was a familiar face at many Squadron events and most recently attended the Squadron rendezvous last summer even during his declining health. He charmed everyone with his thick Scottish brogue and quick wit. Bill loved his coffee and at every event we made sure there was a cup waiting for him. He loved to dance and was a member of the Tartan Square Club. We will miss him. Our deepest condolences to Elaine and her family. Robert Burns, the famed Scottish poet, wrote the poem below and is our tribute to Bill.
