The purpose of this SOP is to provide methods for testing Soldier performance of High Physical Demand Tasks. HPDT is the gender neutral, standards based test that predict a Soldier s ability to perform the physically demanding critical tasks of the AOC/CMF 19. This test is a one-time requirement to pass before being awarded an Armor AOC/MOS. Soldiers currently holding an Armor AOC/MOS are not required to take the test unless they are reclassifying from their current MOS. The test will assist leadership in selecting the best-qualified Soldiers regardless of gender for each job within the Army profession; putting the right Soldier in the right job. Thus ensuring future force capability and readiness, which will result in fewer training injuries and re-assignments of Soldiers. 2. There are nine High Physical Demand Tasks for CMF 19. Each AOC/MOS must receive a GO on all seven tasks assigned to their specific AOC/MOS as shown below. 6 Task 1: Conduct a 12 Mile Foot March (19A, 19D, 19K) Test Administration Guide 1. ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES: a. Verify the route for the 12 mile foot march is a hard packed improved surface with no more than a +/- 3 degree slope. b. The first segment of the foot march will be for 45 mins then a 15 min rest, a 50 min foot march and 10 min rest will be conducted for subsequent hours of movement until complete. c. Check the Soldiers uniform, weapon, and verify the rucksack packing list is complete before movement. d. Verify you have all support personnel and equipment listed. e. Read instructions to the Soldiers prior to the start of the test. f. Start timer when Soldiers begin the road march. g. Have unit representative responsible for execution of foot march to ensure the Soldiers maintain their pace and conduct all rests required. Soldiers must walk. No running or airborne shuffle is authorized. h. The Soldier will wear the specified uniform as listed in Table EVALUATION CRITERIA: a. In order to receive a GO, the Soldier must complete a 12 mile foot march in under five hours. Soldiers must finish in the same uniform and equipment as they started and may not receive any assistance during the foot march for any reason. Upon completion of the event, annotate the scorecard and sign. b. NO-GOs will be explained the reason for NO-GO. NO-GO Scorecards will be annotated and signed. 3. YOUR WEAPON WILL BE HELD AT THE LOW READY IN FRONT OF YOU AT ALL TIMES. RUNNING OR AIRBORNE SUFFLE ARE NOT AUTHORIZED. Measure a distance of 15 m/ 49 2 marking the start and finish lines with tape or cones placed at each end of the start and finish lines. b. Dummy or weights will be secure in the SKED with the SKED behind the starting line. c. Ensure the SKED liter is serviceable. d. The Soldier will begin in front of the start line with the SKED strap secure. e. Read instructions prior to start of the test. f. Demonstrate the requirements to receive a GO. g. Give a countdown from three then announce begin and start the timer. h. The Soldier will wear specified uniform as listed. 2. EVALUATION CRITERIA: a. In order to receive a GO, the Soldier must to drag the SKED 15m in under 60 seconds. Upon completion of the event, annotate the scorecard and sign. b. 14 Task 3: Engage a Target with a Hand Grenade at 35m (19A, 19D, 19K) Test Administration Guide 1. ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES: a. The course will not be in a sand pit or gravel pit. Mark the throw line with cones and engineer tape, mark the 30 meter line with picket stakes and engineer tape. Emplace the 35 meter target. b. Ensure M69 practice hand grenades are modified to weigh 14.7oz. See Image 3-2. c. Read instructions prior to start of the test. d. Demonstrate the requirement to receive a GO. e. Give the command of prepare to throw. f. Give the command throw. g. Once thrown, if distance is not clearly met the Soldier will automatically pick up the second grenade and throw for the 2 nd attempted. h. The Soldier will wear specified uniform as listed. 2. EVALUATION CRITERIA: a. To receive a GO the Soldier must throw a hand grenade past the 30m line. The Soldier will receive two attempts to do this within 30 seconds. Soldier must not cross the throw line during the evaluation. Upon completion of the event, annotate the scorecard and sign. b. ON THE COMMAND PREPARE TO THROW YOU WILL SECURE THE FIRST HAND GRENADE. ON THE COMMAND OF THROW YOU WILL THROW THE GRENADE. 18 Task 4: Lift and Move a 69 lb Duffle Bag (19A, 19D, 19K) Test Administration Guide 1. ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES: a. Ensure each platform has a duffle bag filled to 69 lbs. b. Read task instructions prior to start of test. c. Demonstrate the event showing good lifting techniques. They will squat down with their head up and back straight, grasp the straps on the duffle bag and stand up using their legs and keeping their head above their hips. d. If a Soldier displays poor form (rounded back, head down, or knees caving in/knocked knees), stop the test. e. Give a countdown from three then announce begin and start the timer. f. The Soldier will wear specified uniform as listed. 2. EVALUATION CRITERIA: a. In order to receive a GO, the Soldier needs to lift the duffle bag 38 inches through the opening and place on top of the mock-up within 10 seconds. Upon completion of the event, annotate the scorecard and sign. b. NO-GOs will be explained the reason for NO-GO, annotate the scorecard and sign. 3. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO USE GOOD TECHNIQUE ON EVERY LIFT TO PROTECT YOUR LOWER BACK. IF YOU SHOW POOR LIFTING TECHNIQUE, WE WILL STOP YOU AND YOU WILL BE RESTARTED. WATCH THIS DEMONSTRATION. EVALUATION CRITERIA: a. In order to receive a GO, the Soldier must move all 16 sandbags 10 meters in under five minutes. Soldier cannot carry more than 2 sandbags at a time. During the test, ensure that the Soldier remains seated with their feet in constant contact with the floor. f. Ensure that the Soldiers rotates their torso moving the apparatus 1 meter and place the apparatus on the ground. g. The Soldier will wear specified uniform as listed. 2. EVALUATION CRITERIA: a. In order to receive a GO, the Soldier must remove the feeder assembly and place on the floor in under 10 seconds. Upon completion of the event, annotate the scorecard and sign. b. Ensure rounds are loaded from the ready rack to the chamber in a safe manner. c. Read instructions prior to start of the test. d. Demonstrate the requirement to receive a GO. e. Give a countdown from three then announce begin and start the timer. f. The Soldier will wear specified uniform as listed. 2. EVALUATION CRITERIA: a.
