3 DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF ARMOR MCGINNIS-WICKAM HALL 1 KARKER STREET SUITE 6600 FORT BENNING, GEORGIA ATZK-AR 14 February 2017 MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD SUBJECT: Armor School SOP for High Physical Demand Tasks (HPDT) 1. The purpose of this SOP is to provide methods for testing Soldier performance of High Physical Demand Tasks. HPDT is the gender neutral, standards based test that predict a Soldier s ability to perform the physically demanding critical tasks of the AOC/CMF 19. This test is a one-time requirement to pass before being awarded an Armor AOC/MOS. Soldiers currently holding an Armor AOC/MOS are not required to take the test unless they are reclassifying from their current MOS. The test will assist leadership in selecting the best-qualified Soldiers regardless of gender for each job within the Army profession; putting the right Soldier in the right job. Thus ensuring future force capability and readiness, which will result in fewer training injuries and re-assignments of Soldiers. 2. There are nine High Physical Demand Tasks for CMF 19. Each AOC/MOS must receive a GO on all seven tasks assigned to their specific AOC/MOS as shown below. Tasks: 19A 19D 19K Task 1: Conduct a 12 Mile Foot March X X X Task 2: Drag a Casualty to Safety X X X Task 3: Engage a Target with a Hand Grenade at 35m X X X Task 4: Lift and Move a 69lb Duffle Bag X X X Task 5: Lift and Carry 35lb Sandbags X X Task 6: Remove M242 Feeder Assembly X X Task 7: Load the TOW Missile Launcher on a BFV X Task 8: Lift and Carry 120mm Training MPAT Rounds X X Task 9: Load 120mm Training MPAT Round X X i
