Though I knew what types of questions would be on certain sections of the ASVAB, I had no idea as many questions on

3 the test I haven't concerned myself with since I was 15 (I am now 23). To assure that I would receive a very high score I purchased this study guide with the hopes of Army OCS (the higher the gt score the better) and found that not only did it cover all possible materials on the ASVAB, but it reinforces what it teaches by testing the reader 4 separate times, with full length tests, allowing the reader to improve each time. My AFQT percentile was 96, and I can honestly say that it is because I was over prepared due to how thoroughly McGraw Hills ASVAB study guide covered all possible materials. As long as the test taker begins studying at least 1 week in advance and puts forth a minimum of 4 hours per day, I can almost promise that the test taker will receive a good score by whatever standards they have. I am a tutor, and have tutored numerous candidates to help them prepare for the ASVAB test. Most of them really struggled with math, and this guide is outstanding. I have looked over a number of the guides out there. I find this particular guide to be the real go-to guide. It does a great job at explaining the math. The McGraw-Hill takes you step-by-step through the math concepts that will be on the ASVAB.The vocabulary and reading comprehension sections are thorough as well. They have a handy section that includes prefixes, roots, and suffixes. This is the key to success in the word knowledge section of the test. Remember, the more you read, and the more you understand words, the better you will do on that part.even if you already have a different guide, I urge you to consider buying THIS guide. Consistent preparation helps you pass. Work the problems over and over. Use the guide book problems, but then create other problems just like these---for extra practice.the Mc-Graw Hill book is really great. First of, I gotta say that all my friends who PASSED the test, were studying with this book and 2 of them are in the Air force. All of them said that this book was a huge help and all of them are also Russian, so they really needed help, specially with language.second...i have ordered this book this night about 11 pm...and I have received it this MORNING at 8-30 am!!!! This is ridiculous! 9 hours delivery time??? lol I feel like I have almost ordered pizza )) This book helps out tremendously. I was kind of freaking out about taking the test because I had taken the pre-tests in this book. They are much more complicated than the actual ASVAB and prepare you very well for the exam. I purchased this book for a family friend that is considering joining the Navy. I am former military and

4 I remember taking the ASVAB. I wish I had this book when I took is years ago. This is an excellent resource and it will help you learn more in order to get a higher score on the ASVAB. Remember the higher the score, the better job selection. If you are thinking about joining the military I would highly recommend that you purchase the book and study the material prior to taking the test, Good luck! Great read. Pair this with Kahn Academy online and Wikipedia and you'll ace the asvab for sure. We got this book for my husband going into the AF, he got a 68 on a test ASVAB he took with an army recruiter. His final score was a 79. This book did nothing to prepare him for the administrative portion of the test, which he scored in the mid-60s. Otherwise, he got low 90's and upper 80's. Find different study material for the technical part and you're set. Overall, we're happy with how this book prepared him I bought it to obviously study for my ASVAB, When I took my practice test(before book) I scored a 35. When I took the real test (after book) I scored a 74. It has everything they might ask in the test.
